Our Favorite Sunday Columnist takes a look at “Education” and some recent goings-on, but the bigger take is on competence. Coffee will be here momentarily. Grab a cup and sit a spell.

Fifty years ago today, the iconoclastic LBJ passed away. He was only 64 years old. Taking a short look back at what happened on his watch.

Morning all! Snow on the ground this morning, but already a degree above freezing. Our first real snow since Christmas.

Example 11,850,946 of the results of our education system in action. This doofus thinks that getting paid every other Friday tricks workers into thinking they’re getting paid more than they are. His solution……get paid by the hour, on the hour. A real rocket sturgeon.

Good afternoon. It was about 30* this morning and had started snowing very lightly. By the time we got out of church, it was coming down pretty good was was light and wet. It hasn’t gotten slick yet.

I left Loki out free in the apartment instead of putting her in the cage. I didn’t know what I would find when I got back. She usually pees in the cage. I can’t find any spots on the rug and the only things I notice that she did was to scratch the door paint (which she had already started on) and got up on my chair and the table by it and knocked some papers off. All things considered, not too bad.

Hope everyone is having a good day..

Good afternoon, aus. Glad you were able to get to church. Looks like Loki is feeling her oats…or maybe catnip…while you’re gone. Solutions aren’t easy.

My last dog was a Shih Tzu named Harley. He had to be kenneled every time we left the house or it would be in a shambles upon return. We had him a couple of months before acquiring a little stray kitten some co-workers found. After that they became such great pals that Harley never had to be kenneled again. Separation anxiety can be severe and our solution was a miracle but obviously not the quick fix for everyone.

I might be open to that , except I pay $75 a month for 1 dog. I think I would have to double that for two. I have Calms, which does help a dog calm down, but I always forget to give it to her ahead of time. I can work on that.

When I saw this article at gateway pundit (The Biden Family Looks Like a Mafia Family and Acts Like a Mafia Family – So Is It a Mafia Family?), my first thought was that even the old time Mafia was more patriotic than the Biden Crime Family. I remembered the story about Lucky Luciano assisting the U.S. Army in the invasion of Sicily during World War II and thus influencing other Mafiosos to also assist the U.S. Not that the Mob was altruistic, but whatever their motive, they did help get the job done at a time of greatest need.

See: Operation Husky: The invasion of Sicily and its aftermath
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collaborations_between_the_United_States_government_and_Italian_Mafia

“Italian Americans were very helpful in the planning and execution of the invasion of Sicily. The Mafia was involved in assisting the U.S. war efforts.[13] Luciano’s associates found numerous Sicilians to help the Naval Intelligence draw maps of the harbors of Sicily and dig up old snapshots of the coastline.[14][15] Vito Genovese, another Mafia boss, offered his services to the U.S. Army and became an interpreter and advisor to the U.S. Army military government in Naples. He quickly became one of AMGOT’s most trusted employees.[16] Through the Navy Intelligence’s Mafia contacts from Operation Underworld, the names of Sicilian underworld personalities and friendly Sicilian natives who could be trusted were obtained and actually used in the Sicilian campaign.[17]”
