Interesting article this morning on the roots of the Deep State. Little did I know that one can trace its origins all the way back to 1881 and the assassination of President Garfield. Another example of how one “well-meaning” gubmint reform led to very unforeseen consequences.

Afternoon All. 34* and overcast here. It is overcast, but not dark or gray. here. It seems like each day more snow melts and then freezes at night. It is getting dangerous to step anywhere. We are supposed to get more snow starting tomorrow. I have snow boots, but now I need to put on those cleat things, too. Loki doesn’t have a problem. 🙄

I solved the problem for myself. I haven’t flown since 2004, for a business trip to Dallas. No worries about TSA, about Covid, about fascist stewardesses . . .

My family wants to take a vacation summer after next, maybe go somewhere farther than the Gulf. Where they suggested is farther than my husband would want to drive, and I told them all I never want to fly again.
