Pogonip (tree and bench) is enchanting to see but painful to endure. Here, it can last a week or more – basically, freezing fog and very depressing after day two. You have it in the panhandle?

So I looked up this “pogonip” word, and the first thing I found was a golf course south of San Diego. Did not make any sense in reference to the photo of winter. Went back, found the definition related to fog and cold. Makes more sense, but still can’t figure any reason to use that word in San Diego, CA, except that it rolls off the tongue pleasingly.

Good afternoon, czarina! Pogonip is a geologic term which has to do with rock strata. Only because “pogonip” is such a strange name is it the least bit memorable. I have no idea how geologists came up with it.

Good day, weather. I’ve never seen freezing fog or much fog at all in our area even though there are many lakes all around us. And I’m glad there are photos of such phenomena so I don’t have to go in search of the real thing…LOL!

I love how everything is being steered toward electric. Like making electricity doesn’t cause any climate change. And we can make all the electricity everyone needs at all times, forever. All over the US. No matter how many electric cars, appliances, heaters, devices, etc., etc. While every other country (except in Europe) goes on using fossil fuels, wood, charcoal, burnt dung…
and the US descends into a third world country under these artificial burdens. Well, at least the US won’t be so alluring for illegal aliens to come to…

Afternoon, All. Pretty much more of the same weather, 30* and still.. I know there is more bad weather coming from the west, but it appears it may pass south of us. We will see. Not much of interest going on here. Loki is lying on my left leg and the arm of my chair asleep (so I can’t move). LOL

Started out grey, windy and ominous. Much vaunted rain came down to two lines of strong showers, total of about 1 1/2 inches with a few lightning strikes and thunder. Now completely cleared, and sunny, but cooling off. This was a cold front, which till take us from 67* this morning to 31* Saturday morning. Then by Monday we will be back around mid 70’s for the week following. A very nice winter, unless one was seeking snow…

BlackRock has a terrible year, loses money and staff. The title of the article is a bit of a misnomer, as the $1.5T loss is in AUM (assets under management), not profits, but they did lose money! Couldn’t happen to a better bunch of *ssholes, IMO. 😀
