Autumn Leaves. Written in 1945. Music by Hungarian-French composer Joseph Kosma and lyrics by poet Jacques Prévert. The Hungarian title is “Hulló levelek” (Falling Leaves).

It’s always been one of my favorite pieces of music and thought it was written for a film starring Joan Crawford and Cliff Robertson entitled, what else, AUTUMN LEAVES. But I see it was written 11 years prior to the film’s release.
The opening credits use Nat Cole’s version for the black and white melodrama…the screenplay was considered a bit edgy at the time. Might make interesting Saturday evening viewing. It has an excellent supporting cast (I’m sure you’ll recognize who plays Robertson’s father).
The court apartments shown in the film where Crawford’s character lives are still standing. “Cedar Court” is located at 5267-77 De Longpre Avenue in Los Angeles. Whoever owns it now shows quite a bit of pride in the property. Here’s the Google Map for May 2022…
