Bohemian Switzerland National Park, Czech Republic…

“The name was inspired by the Swiss artists Adrian Zingg and Anton Graff, who were reminded of their homeland by the geography of northern Bohemia. Since then, it’s been called Bohemian Switzerland National Park for its gorgeous natural wonders and wild beauty.”

House Democrats won’t support bill to sanction Iran’s top dogs for human rights crimes
OCT 23, 2022 5:00 PM BY ROBERT SPENCER

They don’t want to offend their Muslim friends and allies, or jeopardize the prospect of securing a deal that will send billions to the mullahs and ensure that they remain in power.

Mornin’ all ya’all! Any minute now the movers should be picking up a big hot tub my friends gave me. They bought it 20 years ago and have kept it in a closed patio, but haven’t used it for over 10 years. Had to pay a company to move it because I could not find 4 strong friends to load and unload it, but the cost is significantly less than buying a new one. Next I have to get an electrician to install a 220 plug near it, and have a hot tub service check it out before filling it. Never had one before, so I’ll have to learn how to keep it up.

Mornin’ All. It was 33* and overcast this morning. It was about 61* in my bedroom last night and I got a little chilly. I don’t mind it being cold, but the covers slid bad a little and left me chilly. I am going to fix that by tucking the quilts in so they don’t move so much. And, as soon as I can wash my new flannel sheets, I will put them on the bed. I don’t like using new sheets until they have been washed.

There is a young woman at church who wears the cutest clothes. She had on a skirt yesterday that was somewhat fitted, not tight, down to just above her knees and then it flared out a little. It was so cute. And, I have seen a lot of designs, but this one seemed different. We talked and I asked her if she made it herself. She said she did and designed it. I told her I sewed and offered to help her if I could when she runs into trouble fitting things together. I doubt that she will call but I made the offer. She and her fiancé are getting married sometime this year, I think. They are a really darling couple and great friends with my son and his wife.

Hope the weather is good where you are and you all have a nice day.

Have a nice rest of your day, aus! The weather is crumby here…cold and wet. I’m looking around and seeing all the things that need to be done and all I want is to snuggle in and watch something entertaining and eat Dove dark chocolate.

Clear until after lunch, now clouding up for the rain due overnight. Haven’t had more than a few sprinkles for weeks, and everything looks dried up like winter. Got up into the low 80’s today, now a chilly breeze is blowing through. Going to be high of 70’s tomorrow.

Mattress Mack is set to win $75M if the Astros go big. He’s a furniture retailer in the HOU area and has big promotions a couple times a year. It’s actually a hedge on the free furniture he “gives away” if the Astros win the World Series.

    Here Comes the Democrat Rout
    By Kurt Schlichter – Oct 24, 2022

Students of military history understand that the real bloodletting starts when the losing side breaks ranks after its formations disintegrate and the cavalry sweeps in to mow down the fleeing survivors. It’s every man for himself, and the best the defeated individuals who were once part of cohesive units can hope for is not to end up one of the bodies left strewn across the battlefield. This is when the victor runs up the score. This is when the vast majority of casualties happen. This is a rout. And that’s pretty much where the Democrats are headed on November 8th, figuratively of course.

LIVE camera on a Southern California autumn day…

Sometimes I look at these live feeds and begin to cry…I want to go home…I want to go home. But there’s no going home. Nothing positive is left there now but the weather. Many good people with no power to correct the terrible things happening there and no political future. Sad.

There are a number of places that are pleasant only in memory. Old photographs and films tell the story of what once was.

It’s important to remember what was good then and there, and seek to bring it into the present in some form. Older traditions can move and change but still hold the essence and the love, and create happy memories.

Our forefathers did it for us. We can do it, even if we must do it a little differently.
