Before this week I never knew there was a Royal Family Channel.

Good afternoon, czarina! I’ve subscribed for quite a while to this channel, Royal Family Channel; but I’m not sure if it is official. It went online Dec. 16, 2010.
There’s a Youtube also called The Royal Family which claims to be the official channel and went online Oct. 5, 2007. And there are others which likely are fan-run channels.

Maxim Vengerov and Daughter Musical Duo (4:21 minutes)
Vid note: During Lockdown in April 2020, my daughter Lisa and I made this musical video performing Alessandro Marcello’s Adagio. Hope you enjoy!

Lovely music while I sat on the porch to drink coffee and watch the doggies run around.

Maxim Vengerov is my fav violinist plus he seems such a genuinely good and kind person. Here he is with his younger daughter, Polina, apparently videoed the same day…

I feel sorry for these Venezuela migrants; making the journey of hope from one ravaged country to another in the process of being ravaged.

I don’t blame them for taking advantage of something that has been openly offered, but they should come here legally.

Mornin’ Weather! I don’t – 99% of them are here for the freebies/crime.

Good afternoon, Wee! That whole Martha’s Vineyard bit is such a crock. They don’t even see what hypocrites they are. Actually I think the illegal aliens are better people than those pathetic MV lefties who live to lie.

They are posting pics all over Twitter of meals being carried in to the building where they were temporarily housed. Big deal! They fed 50 people for one day.

Mornin’ All. It was pretty cool out and it is overcast right now, but burning off. Loki has had her walk and her breakfast and is taking her morning nap. My DIL has already found 3 potential washer/dryer sets for under $200. I will have to call and check on them today. My son is going bear hunting this weekend so he can’t pick them up until next week. But, I am exited because I really hate going to the laundromat.
Pray for peace and for our country to be restored.

Mornin’ mom! Good news about the laundry machines. I hope you get a set that suits you.

PS: I hear that bear meat is delicious.

My son said it is sort of gamey, but had a good flavor. I don’t even care for beef, so I won’t bother. Oh, and he said they saved the bear fat.

Shall I ask saved for what?

When I asked, he said “for different things.” LOL. I will have to ask my DIL.

Bear lard is like pork lard. You can even use it in baking. Often used for lubrication. The flavor is dependent on what the bear has been eating. If it’s a lot of fish, then it might be “gamey”.

Makes your hair nice and shiny, too. At least that’s what the Alaska Natives used to say.
Howdy all! Been reading but not commenting lately, just didn’t have much to say. Kind of depressed about the state our nation these days.

Hey Aus….The best jerky that I’ve ever eaten was jerked black bear meat….By drying the meat slowly, the grease & gaminess disappates and the actual taste of the meat shines…You might suggest to your son that he try making some jerky, it’s well worth the time :0)

I will have to remember that to tell him.

In chili, it’s pretty good. What I’ve eaten is gamey unless mixed with something else.

Oh, my goodness, aus! I hope if your son shoots a bear it will be checked for trichinosis. Check out what the procedure is in Montana.
Trichinosis is rampant in the bear population of North America. Even touching the meat with bare hands is cause for concern. Storing the meat in a separate freezer before a thorough cooking is a MUST…no “rare” or “medium rare”! Never let it mingle with other edibles before cooking. It’s not like beef or deer (even some deer have been known to have trichinosis, though it’s not common). I’d sooner eat snake than bear.
My honest opinion is that bear hunting should be outlawed.

Well, he has already explained all about the trichinosis and what has to be done for the meat to be safe. And, he has two women, his wife and his MIL, who are very safe food concientious

So, new dog, Hannah has discovered the lake is a joyous place to visit. Two days ago she came home covered in mud, happy as a clam!!! (Less so during the required bath.) Today, she came home just wet, so I dried her off, and she ran for the door the next time it was opened, and back to the lake!
Shortly thereafter, my brother called out he could seen the alligator swimming across the lake, away from the area where Hannah had been playing. Our guess is it is about 5’ long (they grow about a foot a year). I will process the pictures and post in a bit.
I have no way to keep Hannah away from the lake other than keep her on a leash, which she hates. And she is a herding dog so she is very active and needs to run. I will get her obedience training, but don’t know if that will be totally effective.

The alligator is swimming from right to left, head is all you can see just left of center in the pic. The v-shaped trail in the water leads your eye to its head. Also included is a pic of a Hannah after her lake-bath.

That’s horrible, czarina! Hannah is just going to have to learn to love the leash. Is there a place where she can get training and come to understand that YOU are the pack leader and she must obey you?

Saddens, but doesn’t surprise me.
Less than half of Americans can name the three branches of the federal government — executive, legislative and judicial — according to an annual survey of civics knowledge conducted for the Constitution Day holiday on Saturday.
Respondents to the Annenberg Public Policy Center’s survey also had little understanding of the impact of a Supreme Court ruling, and few could enumerate the freedoms guaranteed by the First Amendment.
“My impression is that even in prestigious universities, maybe 30% of all students could pass the civics test required of incoming immigrants,” said Joseph Ellis, a Pulitzer Prize-winning constitutional historian.
https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2022/sep/15/constitution-day-survey-finds-sharp-decline-basic-/
Highlights
Less than half of U.S. adults (47%) could name all three branches of government, down from 56% in 2021 and the first decline on this question since 2016.
The number of respondents who could, unprompted, name each of the five freedoms guaranteed by the First Amendment also declined, sharply in some cases. For example, less than 1 in 4 people (24%) could name freedom of religion, down from 56% in 2021.
