She is now back in Buckingham Palace, where her body was received privately by her children and grandchildren. She will rest there until she is taken to Westminster to lie in state.

For two days I’ve been watching everything. Can’t stop…endlessly fascinating and touching. It’s also a matter of honoring a great historical figure of immense character and quality. I’ve read some of the horrible things people have been saying (including a lifelong friend who seems to despise Queen Elizabeth…I couldn’t even get into it with her as I don’t want to know her reasons). Simply do not understand the reasoning behind blaming someone for what their ancestors did.
Here’s an interesting article…”Boris reveals state of Queen’s health when he quit two days before her death”

Boris Johnson has revealed how the Queen was ‘absolutely on it’ during their final meeting two days before her death.

She had a will of iron! A wonderful partner for Phillip, and they must have enjoyed hours of camaraderie puzzling over events and sharing the trials and humor of life’s tests together.

Queen haters sometimes blame her for what the government does – like allowing illegal immigration. Also seen her blamed for the decline of the empire, although why anybody here would care about that is a mystery to me.

The Queen’s body arrives home. I am posting this video because I don’t understand the applause and “hoorays” by the crowds. Seems an odd reaction to her death.

Perhaps it’s a matter of not knowing what to do. It’s a unique experience seeing as most of the crowd likely was born after Elizabeth became the monarch…and young people of today may not have any training in proper behavior toward royalty.
Can’t remember where it occurred, but yesterday I viewed a clip of a youngish woman grabbing King Charles and giving him a kiss on the cheek. And others were asking for selfies with him.
But such lack of decorum isn’t limited to royal subjects. When Jimmy Carter met the Queen Mother, he gave her a kiss on the mouth….obviously a total breach of protocol. She later roundly disapproved the action by listing him as one of the people she most disrespected. When asked the reason for the scorn, she told her questioner how shocked she was that he would do such a thing.
As a contrast to how Queen Elizabeth’s cavalcade has been treated, here’s a completely different reaction afforded King George VI’s coffin in the funeral procession….

The above photo is from an excellent Daily Mail article…

I suppose. I can’t imagine applauding at any funeral cortege, but perhaps they just don’t know how to behave. It seems to me that most of them were fixated on getting pictures and videos on their phones.
