    Watching this right now. The serious demeanor and total focus of the young men bearing the casket into the cathedral is striking: they will never forget this day or the fact that this was their task, to bear the body of Queen Elizabeth into this service.

    The Brits’ capacity for ceremony is front and center. I think that was/is an element of President Trump’s personal presentation within public ceremonies of various kinds. He seemed to have the ability to bring a sense of ceremony to many situations, revealing values about those situations that wouldn’t be as clear if done with sloppy and careless attention.
