We all knew that Papa Pelosi wasn’t gonna spend too much time in the pokey. Here’s a bit more sunlight on just exactly how things went down. While we all knew he wouldn’t spend much time with the door shut, what p*sses me off is that he doesn’t even have to report to his PO while on that “three-year” probation. Don’t let anyone tell you there isn’t a two-tiered justice system in this country. The good news is that at least now, some of this can get found out.

Yes, Tex…our hope lies in the non-censored blogs, like Stellas, and social media [e.g., Gab and GatewayPundit] that are getting the truth out to increasingly more followers. “…the truth will set you free.”

There have been some discussion on these pages about this, but I like the way this was put into an essay and condensed into a single thought. Why did so many of us collect “stuff” that no one wants anymore. Is it them…..or us? Some serious food for thought. IMO.

I actually had a collection of these. Pop was an Indiana State Police trooper, and for your first year on the job, part of that job was doing the photo work at accident scenes. Your childhood can be a bit warped when you see those for awhile……..but, I did get extra credit during Driver’s Ed class with my photo montage of the dangers of driving stupid…..or something.

I watched this the other day. Of course, you never get anywhere quickly by boat, although sailing is a delightful pastime (most of the time, at least.)

The “once in awhile” reminds me of a Thanksgiving dinner I was at with my wife. Our host (and most of the crewmembers) were about 150 west of Bora Bora, circa 1982, when a French frigate pulled up and told them that a cyclone was bearing down on them. So they beat back to Bora Bora, arriving at 9:30 at night. There were 9 souls aboard a 49′ foot sailboat. The only entrance to the lagoon is an opening in the reef created by the US Navy during WWII. Its about 200′ wide and 50′ deep. The waves were 40′ – 50′, washing across the lagoon, ruining the Club Med were I had staid 5 years previously. Kevin, our host was Captain and had to surf the boat through that opening in the dark, with just the boat’s lights up on the mast. When the waves withdrew, you could see the reef bottom. Scary sailing.

G’day, Miz Wee! The student loan scam is a problem the feds have created and off which they have been making a huge profit. The solution? Get rid of the federal government…LOL!

Just a few rambling thoughts this afternoon…

Though the Dems, as usual, are creating an unfair mess and hoping they gain from it, there must be a better solution than what has been proposed…and I do think it should be solved to everyone’s advantage, especially so that the taxpayer isn’t stiffed again.

Perhaps one “quick fix” could be changing the law so that student loans like other loans could be resolved through bankruptcy court’s Chapter 7 complete dissolution option or Chapter 13 where the debtor agrees to a repayment plan.

Another solution is to require loan co-signers. If your parents can’t co-sign because of poor credit or lack of income and a student cannot find some other responsible adult to co-sign, then 2-year colleges and then state colleges should be the choice the student makes unless he can acquire an academic or sports scholarship to more elite schools. Even though public schools are also expensive, they aren’t excessively so…or at least they didn’t used to be.

And how about encouraging students to attend trade schools rather than humongously expensive colleges? And maybe big private schools should be required to use their endowments and big bank accounts to assist their students?

        Very thoughtful comment, Lucille.
Our son has a successful welding business he built through trial and error…his jobs have paid for his education, and so has he – in part – via his ‘errors.’ He got his 1st job at a local shop when a classmate declined the drug test so his HS teacher recommended him instead. Now his work is quite in demand, as he has a good brain, work ethics and EXPERIENCE!

Good on your son! Finding a profession you really like, especially one in the trades sector, actually creates opportunities to make a very good living. God bless him!

One of my grand-nephews who lives in Alberta is now 28 and bought his first new house a year ago. His profession? A mechanic. He gained his knowledge through a trade school apprentice program. Last year he returned to the program to learn some additional skills. He’s done all this while managing a chronic illness plus meeting a lovely girl to whom he’s now engaged. He’s laid-back but a very hard worker. It can be done.

The Call for a Convention of States Is a Secret Plot to Expand the Federal Government and Strip You of Your Constitutional Rights
August 15, 2022 by Edward Hendrie

Socialist schemers have entered into a strategy of infiltrating and co-opting conservative political groups to gain support among conservatives for a constitutional convention of the states. Well-meaning conservatives have no idea that they are being used to subvert the freedoms of Americans. It is part of the plan that the convention of the states will become a runaway constitutional convention. At that runaway convention, votes will be rigged to vote for amendments that will create a stronger federal government, neutered state governments, and a populace stripped of God-given rights.
