Pretty woody stem…maybe relative of magnolia?
Good morning Czarina, Lucille and Happy Sunday Stellars!

Hello, weather! It’s a puzzle. I tried to find it on the Internet, but no luck.

Me too, but did find some intriguing trees!

Hi, czarina! With soft outer petals and a woody stem, it’s a bush or tree flower perhaps.

Mornin’ all ya’all! Bright sunny, a little humid but not too bad yet. Supposed to be less rain around today, but it has only been spotty showers for several days, typical for summer. The good news is so far, no hurricanes in the Atlantic or Gulf. The bad news is we are going into the peak part of the season, with Sept. 12 being the middle. Yes, we coastal people obsess about this….

I’d obsess too, Czarina. Don’t know how you take it; although here we have fire season, which causes a small degree of anxiety. Guess there’s something everywhere!

You’re welcome, weather! I’m tempted to go back and re-do all my photo albums, saving the family photos with our animals separately. There’s something so comforting about getting out the collections and have family sitting around looking at old black and white photos to see what generations past looked like.
One of my nephews has taken the family photos his mother and father left him plus photos of his own family and digitized them. That’s fine and certainly has its place. But I like the old-fashioned method of being able to touch and hold such remembrances in my hand.
It’s similar in feeling to holding a hymnal in church rather than reading the words off a huge screen which has been placed in the former choir loft. Tactile memories are important, imo.

Such a wasted life. It started very young…I suspect even prior to his mother’s and sister’s deaths.
Have a restful evening, Wee!

Last night I went out front at dusk to enjoy the yard, and saw my outside orange cat , Mickey O over by the shed. He was scratching around in the grass, taking care of some cat business I suppose. Then he finished, looked at me, got into launch position and ran as fast as he could across the 50 yards toward me, stopped suddenly and became calm cat again at my feet. The joy of speed!

Mornin’ all. Our Favorite Sunday Columnist takes on academia this morning. Those running it and those immersed in its toxicity. She’s not impressed. She seems to think that free speech is an endangered species on campus’s around the Country. I think she’s spot on.

A look at one of the good guys during the corona scam. Dr. McCullough, and a new book that’s out. I’ll probably have to get this one as well. For anyone out there who thinks that Big Pharma is on the side of light and goodness, your bubble will be popped.

We had a high of 63* today when the clouds parted for awhile. Now we’re back to the upper 50s. Always exciting to get into the 60s. And ecstatic when we get to 70! Summer in Alaska is what most of y’all think of as winter. The good side is not paying for air conditioning.

Good day, Stella! We’ll be hitting 90 today…hot and dry. Even with our year-round inexpensive electricity, I still hate to turn on the air conditioning…which is silly, of course. If you need it, use it…

Here’s your next epidemic/pandemic after monkeypox…………..polio. Because the world’s smartest doctor sounds the alarm. don’t worry, he’s not a real doctor, but more like Dr. Jill. But he has a sh*tpot full of money, so people actually listen to the blowhard.

Have not figured out how all those anti-vax people who didn’t want their kids covered for polio, etc. are the first in line for CV19 vax for their kids.

Lucille,
Seems you have a lot of us searching for the flower illustrated above. I didn’t find it either, but did discover an orchid cactus
Quite lovely on its own.
This variety even produces edible fruit.
