    Christianity in Pompeii

“In Pompeii, like its nearest neighboring town, Herculaneum, there was a Christian community until the fatal eruption of 79 AD. This could happen quite early. So in one of the books of the New Testament, namely in the book of Acts, the visit of the Apostle Paul to the small town of Puteoli on the road to Rome is mentioned.

Acts 28: 13 From there we set sail and arrived at Rhegium. The following day we reached Puteoli. 14 I spent a week with them. And so we came to Rome.

“That rejection was seen by many in Israel as signaling that he does not recognize Israeli sovereignty in that part of the city. However, when asked at a press conference on Thursday whether that is how the situation should be understood, he said no.”

“Biden is, as ever, a liar and a cowardly and opportunistic equivocator.”

In case you were wondering how things went for Smooth-Brain over in the Gulf, wait no longer. About as well as we would have predicted. We know where all the clowns ended up after Ringling Bro’s. shut down the circus.

Ah, poor Joey! He was forced to miss a major opportunity to give away more of our money buying an item we already have available in abundance at fields around the U.S.

Wonder how many coping pills he had to take the morning after.

I have not read the FULL report, though I’m sure it is as condescending as this synopsis

“Conservative Legal Luminaries Release Report Entitled ‘Lost, Not Stolen: The Conservative Case that Trump Lost and Biden Won the 2020 Presidential Election'”

    ILYA SOMIN | 7.15.2022 10:10 AM –

Several prominent conservatives recently released a report entitled “Lost, Not Stolen: The Conservative Case that Trump Lost and Biden Won the 2020 Presidential Election.” The authors include former federal judges J. Michael Luttig, Thomas Griffith, and Michael McConnell (who is also a prominent legal scholar), former GOP senators John Danforth and Gordon Smith, former George W. Bush solicitor general and conservative “super-lawyer” Ted Olson, Republican election law expert Benjamin Ginsberg, and David Hoppe, longtime aide to a variety of GOP members of Congress. Luttig and McConnell were also often viewed as potential GOP nominees to the Supreme Court, and Danforth is the former Attorney General of Missouri, in which role he was a key mentor for future Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas (who started his legal career working for Danforth).

LUCILLE NOTES: The article author considers those of us who believe the election was stolen to be “some combination of ‘rational ignorance’ and strong partisan bias.”

I seriously doubt that the report authors had time to comb through all the information available in the last several months re mules, etc. and the serious problems with improper and illegal voting.

Hopefully someone on our side will have time and inclination to give a rebuttal.

Oops. Another major problem in that trek to a “sustainable” society where we can get rid of that evil fossil fuel. Copper’s gonna get harder to come by down the road. So…… either these follies get pushed far down the road, or it will necessarily be too expensive for us peasants to own a vehicle. I know what the smart people out there would like for us. 😦

Oh, mannnn, I just majorly fell off my diet by eating a bunch of On the Border cafe style tortilla chips with sea salt that my family left behind when they went home yesterday. Now I’m feeling real guilty about eating their caramel & dark chocolate ice cream last night, too. Where do I go for absolution!!! I’m soooo ashamed!

Well, hello. It was my two granddaughters’ birthdays, Sat and Sun. My car wouldn’t start so my son came to get me and it started for him. I guess it is a man thing. Anyway, I drove it to his house thinking I would be able to drive it home and back again. It died for sure there. Bad battery. So, long story short, I had to stay overnight again because it was too far for them to drive home and back again for church and 2nd Granddaughter’s b-day party. And, get this, again I went to church in dirty clothes. 😦 My son found a place that was open that sells batteries and installed a new one. Works great. We went to church, had the little family party, dinner, and I drove back to my apartment. I am exhausted. I am not used to being on alert for two days straight.

Aus, looks like you’re going to need one clean outfit to take wherever you go. Just use a backpack…

      • auscitizenmom says:

Yes. I am packing an overnight bag and leaving it there, and I will have a change of clothes whenever I go anywhere from now on. I do not like sleeping in the nude and wearing dirty clothes to church. But, it was a great weekend with my family and his in-laws who are wonderful people. They live there in the house. It has two sections and is perfectly set up for all of them. My DIL and her parents get along very well and also my son does, too. Everyone had such good time.
