Today is Bastille Day! I learned the Marseillaise, in French, when I was studying the French language in high school, and I still remember it. Very bloody. Just like their revolution.

Remember Bastille Day 2017?

Didn’t Melania look beautiful? I will say this, the French know how to celebrate, with big military parades.

French President Emmanuel Macron, left, shakes hands with U.S President Donald Trump as First Lady Melania Trump looks on after the Bastille Day military parade on the Champs Elysees avenue in Paris Friday, July 14, 2017. France’s annual Bastille Day parade turned into an event high on American patriotism this year, marked by a warm embrace between President Donald Trump and his French counterpart. President Trump thought so too, and our next July 4th celebration took many tips from the Bastille Day celebration that he had witnessed in Paris. Of course, the lefties were up in arms.

One of my best memories is walking down the Champs-Élysées, under the Arc de Triumph, on New Years Eve in 1978, drinking Champaign, arm-an-arm with Catharine, It was crystal clear and unexpectedly warm.

Good afternoon, czarina! Indeed, though I love walking (or used to when I was still able). Here are some wonderful 1930s cars a kindly human could give me for Christmas or whatever the next holiday is. I’m partial to the Peugeot….

        1936 Austin Eaton 2-door Coupe Convertible….

        1935 Peugeot 601 Roadster….

        1937 Cord 812 Supercharged Sportsman Convertible Coupe….

        1938 Ford 1/2 Ton Pickup….

That Peugot would suit you, Lucille. These remind me of the Concours D’elegance at Pebble Beach each summer, along with the Antique Car Races at Laguna Seca! We were poor as church mice but had friends who had a home there.

Yes, it’s May 8, 1945 and I’m driving my Peugeot on the backroads heading toward Paris to join in the great crowds gathered in various city squares. The war in Europe has ended. My red beret is perched jauntily on my head plus my red/black/white heavy silk scarf is flying out the window as I speed along. Having put both items away for the duration, I will now proudly wear them everywhere in celebration.

Going to the car races must have been great fun, weather. Here’s a photo of Jay Leno at Laguna Seca…

            Make: Mercedes Benz
            Model: 300SL
            Racetrack: Laguna Seca
            Year: 2004
Notes: Jay Leno gets a ride from Sir Stirling Moss in Moss’s actual car from his 1955 winning run in the Millie Miglia.

Good!! They don’t want the cost of matenity leave and cover insurance for children.
We stopped patronizing Dicks a few years ago.
Mornin’ Stella…and happy Thursday to all Stellars!

Have a terrific afternoon, weather! Good on America First Legal! It is definitely discrimination in favor of women who abort. I would not remain working for such a company even if they offered to pay in full for all maternity care and leave. Makes me sick just thinking how much they DON’T care about life.

Whenever I get ads for Dick’s in the mail, into the trash they go. I don’t even use them to clean out Gee’s kitty litter box.

Mornin’ All. Had a little blip with the computer this morning. Everything seems to be all right. I have to go to the laundromat today. I hate that. I am going to get a stackable washer/dryer as soon as I can. There are hookups already so I will be looking for one. They are very small, but that worked perfectly for me in FL. And, here, I should be able to get two wears out of my clothes, which I couldn’t do down there. I slept really well last night, didn’t wake up once. But now I feel like I need a nap. Probably just looking for an excuse to get out of going to wash clothes.

Well, hope you all have a nice day.

Good day, aus! Happy washing and drying!

I used to take my little Shih Tzu to the laundry and hook his leash outside while I put the clothes in the dryer. I still had a washer at home but would schlepp the wet clothes up two blocks to dry them.

Then Harley and I would take off for a long walk around the neighborhood, arriving back in time to take the items out of the dryer, fold and put them in the clean/dry garbage bag I brought along.

It was a pain, but I was getting ready to move out of L.A. and didn’t want to take either a washer or dryer with me. We do what we must! LOL!

While the repercussions from the “scamademic may last much of the rest of my lifetime, I’m glad to see the world waking up to this totalitarian thuggery. Apparently, some in Germany have figured out they don’t want to freeze to death, or eat bugs the rest of their life. Change is a’comin’.
