The History of Father’s Day in America | Drive Thru History: Holiday Special
    By Dave Stotts

The above video is an excerpt from Dave’s full special where, among more historical background, he interviews fellow Christians about Fathers’ Day and shows some of his personal interests such as the truck he drives in the video. If you’d like to see the 54:46 minute version (it’s worth the time), go to:

I’ve been following Dave for many years and really enjoy his takes on history (and his offbeat sense of humor).

In 1956, when I was just 13, I spent the summer washing pots and pans at the Country Club, in Cadillac, MI. My next oldest bro had the summer job as manager; he was attending Michigan State – Hotel Mgmt. The Club was only open in the summer; because the winter snows were truly deep. On Mondays, the club was closed, so I learned to play golf. At summer’s end, my Mom took me to the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, The movie “Somewhere in Time” was shot there.

Mornin’ All. Happy Father’s Day to all you fathers. It stormed off and on most of the afternoon yesterday. It was nice that that cooled it off. Rain doesn’t always cool it down here. Often it just makes it more humid. :\ So this was nice. My friend is coming over today to help with the packing. I was giving Loki her liquid antibiotic yesterday, and she managed to spit it out all over my hands. I started feeling weird, so I took some Benadryl and got better. So I went to our vet and got some in pill form and that shouldn’t be a problem. Well, hope your weather is nice and that you all have a nice day.

Currently having to dose Kit-ten twice daily with liquid Clavamox and vitamin drops. Fortunately cats have a handle that immobilizes them (grab the skin on the scruff of the neck and tilt head back). Don’t know if that works on dogs, since mine are too large to try. But dogs can be fooled with a bite of cheese…

Mornin’, all. Our Favorite Sunday Columnist seems to think that some of our Betters might begin to rethink the decarbonization of the world after their people express displeasure at freezing to death in Europe and other neat things brought about by “Putin’s Gas Tax”. 😉

Man Tries to Give Blood Amid a Shortage, Is Rejected Because He Won’t Say Whether He’s Pregnant

For any men wanting to donate blood, make sure you’re medically self-aware.

For example, you should be adequately informed as to whether you’ve been impregnated.

Such was a lesson reportedly learned by Leslie Sinclair this month. The central Scotland resident had hoped to give life-sustaining fluid to others in need. Sadly, the effort encountered coagulation.

According to the Daily Mail, the 66-year-old was handed a form asking if he was currently pregnant. Furthermore, the facility needed to know if he’d been knocked up within the last half-year.

The inquiry left him less than impressed:

When he complained that as a man in his 60s this question did not apply and he should not have to answer it, Mr Sinclair said staff at the clinic told him they could not accept his blood.

I do not want to diminish anything that the early pioneers at NASA accomplished, but where they are today, and what the private sector is able to do without all of the gubmint “rules and regs”. Three rocket shots in less than 2 days. Yet, Joey Mumbles and crew will continue to try and bury Elon. 😦

I remember being upset with Robin Williams when he committed suicide. Little did I know that we would be dealing with the same disease very soon after. Mrs.T’s Momma had LBD. My MIL had the hallucinations, unlike Mr. Williams. Horrible and heart-breaking

His widow said it was LBD that killed, him; and she was right. My BIL’s hs girlfriend died from it, and he said it was an excruciating experience for her and her husband as well as himself. Cruel, evil disease!

Not that this is a surprise or that I believe much, if anything, Politico usually puts out. However, this rings true to me and IT IS BLOODY ANNOYING….

Annoying, yes; the pinheads that run the administraion are probably tickled by their cunning but don’t realize that true conservatives don’t watch Fox any more. We run many Tucker clips that TGP posts, but that’s it!

Our gubmint can think of more ways to make life harder for us working stiffs, than Carter’s got pills. Now they want to tell Winchester to quit selling “excess” ammo to the general public. If they could only take some of their creativity and figure out how to make life better for their citizens, can you imagine.
