Ten reasons why I vote Democrat:
#10. I vote Democrat because I love the fact that I can now marry whatever I want. I’ve decided to marry my German Shepherd.
#9. I vote Democrat because I believe oil companies’ profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene, but the government taxing the same gallon at 15% isn’t.
#8. I vote Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.
#7. I vote Democrat because Freedom of Speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.
#6. I vote Democrat because I’m way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves. I am also thankful that we have a 911 service that gets police to your home in order to identify your body after a home invasion.  It will take the police an average of about 15 minutes to get to your house; 00 buckshot travels at about 1200 ft/sec.
#5. I vote Democrat because I’m not concerned about laws being put on the books to allow babies to be aborted even after birth…so long as we keep all death row inmates alive and comfy.
#4. I vote Democrat because I think illegal aliens have a right to free health care, education, and Social Security benefits, and we should lower Social Security payments to those who paid into it.
#3. I vote Democrat because I believe that businesses should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as the Democrat Party sees fit.
#2. I vote Democrat because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit fringe kooks who would never get their agendas past the voters.
#1. I vote Democrat is because I think it’s better to pay $billions for oil to people who hate us, but not drill our own because it might upset some greenie, endangered beetle, gopher, or fish here in America. We don’t care about the beetles, gophers, or fish in those other countries…and certainly don’t care about endangered humans anywhere. But, hey! It’s virtue signaling that counts.

Went with a friend in 1982 to Puerto Benus, Costa Del Sol, Spain on the Med. He was a world class Backgammon player enrolled in a tournament that was conducted outside at a bistro next to the Sinatra Bar. Red and green Cinzano umbrellas at every game table. So, everyday from 10AM to 6PM they played Backgammon for big money, while we listened to Sinatra songs, over and over and over. By day three, we’d heard every song Frank ever sang 10 times. Other than that PB was spectacular. Now, I understand it’s wall-to-wall condos all along the Costa Del Sol.

Mornin’ All. Hot, humid, yada, yada, yada. I called my vet to see if I could get pills instead of liquid antibiotic for Loki. She keeps spitting it out on me. I felt a little weird afterwards this morning, so I am worried about it. They only gave me the liquid because they didn’t have the pills at the UrgentPetCare. I have gotten enough in her so that she is feeling better. Boy, she hates that stuff, though. Well, later gators.

I think it was a reaction to yesterday. I had to get up at 6:00 am for medical tests, and couldn’t have water or food for 12 hours prior. I was whacked when I got home and took a nap (after eating!) Then I went to bed early and slept almost 12 hours.

You might want to question your doctor and blood drawer (I couldn’t spell philologist). Finally I asked one and she said it was okay to have water. She said you get dehydrated without it and it is hard to draw blood. You might want to check on that because all the rules say no. Here they say you can even have coffee without cream or sugar.

This was because of the vascular RNL test that I had. It is an ultrasound of the kidneys, specifically to judge arterial blood flow. I learned that the renal arteries are the smallest in the body, and other abdominal “things” interfere with the ability to see what they need to see. As it was, it took almost an hour, and they had a really difficult time getting all of the pictures and measurements that they needed. Good news is that my kidneys appear to be absolutely normal. The reason I had this test is that they are having trouble getting my blood pressure down, and thought that kidney artery narrowing might be the culprit.

My blood draw went smoothly. I also had an echocardiogram. This is the first time I had one since just after my heart attack. One of things they are looking for is pulmonary high blood pressure. Don’t know the results yet.

Hope everything is good. I just wanted to mention that unless you had something special like this because the nurse told me that so many people come in for a regular draw and she had a lot of trouble getting anything. But, they had always said not to drink anything. It goes much better now.

Soooo much going on all the time. It’s hard for me to keep abreast (and sane/anger-free) of Internet info even with periodic entertainment breaks via vid viewing of escapes to the country and other fun real estate adventures.

It is so reassuring (comforting?) to come here after a personal week from hell and find normal people doing normal things.

No idea how large is your viewership, Stella, but one wagers it is larger than just the commenters here.
Will tell you about my week another time.
Stella, glad to see your docs are taking good care of you. One of the reasons I kept falling was high BP (the other was/is disintegrated knee).

Thanks to you all for still being here.

Another reason older people fall is low vitamin D and B12 levels. Neurologist told us the old gut does not take all the nutrients available from food. Said to give Grandma 1 dropper full of B12 every night (hold on your mouth for 30 secs before swallowing, it is best absorbed through the mucous membrane, not in the stomach) and 10,000 IU D3 daily. After two weeks she stopped falling, and after 6 months he lowered the dose by half. Never fell again.

My mother used to get B12 injections. My grandfather and his sister both died of pernicious anemia (obviously before they discovered what caused it). I haven’t been taking B vitamins, but this is a good reminder.
