  2. Good morning, everyone. A lot of stuff going go in my life right now so I have not. Work has been crazy because we have had such a tough time hiring seasonal help. On top of that, one of our full timers had to go to the hospital with congestive heart failure last week leaving us with two people to do the work normally done by six. But it’s a brand new week so here’s hoping things will get better. Happy Monday all!

  3. Mornin’ All. Another sunny, humid, and hot day here. No clouds that I can see. My frfiernd came over over the weekend and helped me pack. We got a lot done, but I have to keep at it. So, I have a lot of things to do today. My friend and I both feed our doggies the Publix Premium dog food. Loki has thrived on it and her coat is so shiny and slick. But, we have been told they won’t get it anymore after today. So, I am going to try to get it when it comes in today. So, bye for now. Have a nice day.

    1. Mornin’ mom. Glad to hear that things are progressing towards your move. Hope you can get your dog food, but you might as well transition Loki to another food because you won’t be able to get it in Montana anyway.

      1. That’s true. I was just hoping to keep her on it until I got settled up there. I did find out that there is a Walmart close and that they do pick up and delivery like here. But, I just wonder how long we will be able to afford dog food at all or even get it.

        2. I’ve been looking into cooking food myself for the dog. Tucker really loved the ‘bland diet’ food I made for him! Of course, I would have to make the food more nutritionally balanced. I don’t think it would be cheaper, but it would be available.

          1. Too bad you don’t live here, Stella. Our stock dog thinks he could survive on sage rats and gophers with some crunchy owl regurgitation to wash it down with! We buy expensive grain-free food for the dogs, and all they really want is [grain-fed] chicken poop.
Seriously, though, you’re right about homemade dog food.

            1. Yesterday I observed Cher Chez flipping something around in the grass, then rolling in it vigorously. Belatedly and with trepidation I ventured over to investigate. She had found a dead bird of unknown vintage. If left alone, I suppose she would have eaten it then later regurgitated it on the tile in the kitchen.

Moral to the story, feed them what makes you feel good. They’ll likely eat something disgusting later.

            2. Yeah, his regular food is a Merrick grain free, but I was giving him the bland diet version during his recent digestive upsets. He is terrible about chewing and swallowing just about everything, so he has to be constantly watched.

      2. Yeah, we feed Taste of the Wild; expensive, but cheaper than trips to the vet. They’ve stayed 100% on it, but we found the lower protein content flavors to be more digestable. The high protein ones are for hard working dogs.

  5. Just got done cancelling a subscription with The Epoch Times. I was neutral about them until this experience; now I will never again give them any of my money. I spent a half hour on their live chat; the “customer service” person wouldn’t cancel my subscription, but helped me access my account (which I could not initially), so I could cancel it myself. I tried to do that, and was informed that I would have to call customer service (they could have just told me this in the first place). I called, and got a long screed about what a good service they are – fighting communism and all – until I finally lost my temper and told her that all I wanted her to do is cancel my subscription and send me confirmation of same. She finally did. End of story.

  6. I loved Paul Lynde – what a scream….

Peter Marshall: “Eddie Fisher recently said, ‘I am sorry. I am sorry for them both.’ Who was he referring to?”
    Paul Lynde: “His fans.”
Marshall: “According to Tony Randall, ‘Every woman I’ve been intimate with in my life has been…’ what?”
    Lynde: “Bitterly disappointed.”
Marshall: “Paul, how many fingers in the girl scout salute?”
Lynde: “Gee, I don’t remember. The last time I saw it was when I didn’t buy their cookies.”
Marshall: “Paul, does Ann Landers think there is anything wrong with you if you do your housework in the nude?”
Lynde: “No, but I have to be terribly careful when I do my ironing.”
Marshall: “Paul, any good sailor knows that when a man falls off a ship you yell ‘Man overboard!’ What should you shout if a woman falls overboard?”
    Lynde: “Full speed ahead!”
Marshall: “What are ‘dual-purpose cattle’ good for that other cattle aren’t?”
Lynde: “They give milk… and cookies, but I don’t recommend the cookies.”
Marshall: “Paul, why do Hell’s Angels wear leather?”
Lynde: “Because chiffon wrinkles too easily.”
Marshall: “According to the IRS, out of every 10 Americans audited, how many end up paying more taxes?”
    Lynde: “11.”
Marshall: “What’s the one thing you should never do in bed?”
    Lynde: “Point and laugh!”
Marshall: “In ‘The Wizard Of Oz’, the Tin Man wanted a heart, and the Lion wanted courage. What did the Straw Man want?”
Lynde: “He wanted the Tin Man to notice him.”
Marshall: “In the Shakespearean play ‘King Lear,’ King Lear had three of them – Goneril, Cordelia, and Regan? Who were they?”
    Lynde: “King Lear had Goneril?”
Marshall: “Paul, does Ann Landers think there is anything wrong with you if you do your housework in the nude?”
Lynde: “No, but I have to be terribly careful when I do my ironing.”
Marshall: “Paul, everyone knows the first verse: What shall we do with the drunken sailor? / What shall we do with the drunken sailor? / What shall we do with the drunken sailor? / Early in the morning? But what is the first line of the next verse?”
Lynde : [singing] “Put him in bed with Elizabeth Taylor / Put him in bed with Elizabeth Taylor / Put him in bed with Elizabeth Taylor / Early in the morning.” [audience laughs] “How disgusting… that poor sailor!”
Marshall: “True or false, Paul Revere had 16 children?”
    Lynde: “From ONE midnight ride?”
Marshall: “Back in the 1870s, Emile Berliner invented something, and without it, I wouldn’t be able to do my job. What was it?”
Lynde: “Let’s see… toupees? Facelifts? Contact lenses?”
    Marshall: “Now cut that out!”
Lynde: “Makeup? Capped teeth? Loud sports jackets?” (IMDb)
    Happy Birthday, Paul Lynde!

    1. Hey Lucille…..The North Entrance road has been washed away thru part of the canyon….it’s a huge mess…The town of Gardiner is now isolated and cut off from the outside. The East Entrance isn’t accessible due to flooding over US Hwy 89 and at about 6:30 this evening the town of Laurel & surrounding Park County was bracing for the banks of the river to flood. Evacuations and rescues in the area continue…..

The National Park Service helicopter recorded some of the damage to the North Entrance access road…
