No! If people can be born on Feb 29th and continue to age despite there being no Feb 29th in 3 out of 4 years, then this will interfere with Mardi Gras and carnival in general. Note that Mardi Gras is March 1st this year, which would be Feb 29th. And many people in NO certainly don’t stop drinking the two days after that. Of course, the rest of the country can forswear whatever they want…

DH recently said “maybe we should give up alcohol for Lent.” I just looked at him (like he’d lost his mind). He said “ok, maybe not wine and beer. Just distilled spirits.” I said “you’re gonna hafta choose. Gentleman Jack or chocolate. NOT both!” He knows who’d pay the price for both. When mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy. Lent is still under discussion.

Mornin Pa, everyone. A little cool today, but the sun is burning through the light overcast. Today is movie day. We are going to see Death on the Nile. I just hope they don’t “Hollywood” it too much, or change the costumes from that era.
My friend has to take her doggie to the vet. A lump that had been near her eye for years and never looked like anything suddenly swelled up and is pushing on her eye. And, it is hard. Yesterday she said that it looks like the swelling is moving around. Poor thing. She just spent over $500 on her cat last week. It had a cold. The vet gave her an antibiotic shot and a bunch of tests which were inconclusive. I told her to put the cat in the bathroom for a few minutes several times a day in steam and she gave her benydril and she immediately got better. Don’t know which treatment, shot or steam, did the most good. I found a vet on the Internet who said that a cold could be caused by a virus or bacteria. ????? I have NEVER heard such a thing.

Used to have a Siamese cat who required a steam room several days each year due to upper respiratory issues. Worked for no cost.
