I’m sitting on my back porch in my shirtsleeves, listening to the rain fall. I think we are going to have some thunderstorms today, we had one about three this morning. Right now it is peaceful and so fresh smelling. Just barely enough light to see some drops ripple the pond. I’m sure the deer won’t come out this morning, but the geese may come honking in.

Lucky you to be in your shirtsleeves! This morning we have a bit of snow on the ground – enough to cover the grass. I went out and swept the steps so that they don’t ice over. Don’t want anybody slipping and falling!

Mornin’ All. Weather is really nice here. I bought a new outdoor thermometer yesterday. It is a little really cheap one. My last one melted, so I figured I would get a cheap one that I can replace when this one melts. Ha.
We went to The Barn for lunch yesterday. It is literally a series of old barns that they have made into a sort of shopping center. There are three little shops and a large antique shop with beautiful antiques in it. The restaurant is really nice. Kind of old fashioned, and they have homemade candies and cookies along with meals. What we had yesterday cost $11. We had soup, a salad, a sandwich, and a piece of cake. Don’t imagine the sizes you get in most restaurants. They serve small portions, which is perfect for us elders. Everything was really delicious.
Well, hope you all have a nice day. I’m doing laundry and paying my rent.

Yes, we did. They had all the Christmas items 30% off so now I have done most of my Christmas shopping for next year. LOL

I will NOT buy presents early. I love Christmas for the feeling of the season, which means shopping AFTER Thanksgiving, and actually buying as late as possible, such as Christmas Eve! Czar and ai would go to a mall on Christmas Eve and spend the evenings browsing and watching people.

We have an AcuRite 9-inch round thermo in the barn. We got it 8 years ago, and it’s been from over 100 to below zero eight times and knocked off it’s pole several. This morning it read 22 degrees…perfect!

Yeah, we’re having a warm spell too at the moment, may go above freezing this afternoon. But should be back down to around zero by the weekend, and likely snow on Friday. Gotta love winter to live in Alaska. Just wish I could hook up a dog team and go mushing!
