In this speech, Ron DeSantis speaks about Florida’s new efforts at flood mitigation and sea level rise, being that the state is one prone to flooding due to low elevation, being surrounded by water, and often hit by large storms. In the latter part of the speech he also addresses a question about “global warming” being the cause of flooding.
Florida is one of the few states that does not collect income tax, yet they are doing fabulously well due to increased economic activity in the state. To me it indicates that Florida is using its resources well, and not throwing away money frivolously and foolishly.
At a little more than halfway through the speech, DeSantis talks about his position on mandates and shutdowns, how they have impacted citizens throughout the country, and how he feels about making decisions that negatively affect the citizens of his state.
I only wish that we had a governor in my state like this one!
We are so fortunate to Ron as our Governor. Presidential candidate in 2028?
