Morning all, kind of cold today, 33 right now. Stella, we watched the Michigan-Ohio State game Saturday afternoon and it snowed in Ann Arbor the whole game. Clips they show of other games showed several places getting snow. Must have been a pretty widespread snow storm up there I guess. I never watch the weather anymore unless I know something big is up.
It was a big rivalry game, and we were happy to see Michigan win. One of those good games you really enjoy watching.
Hope your long weekend was great. My oldest son left yesterday, bound for downtown Charlotte with a scoreboard and beams to support it on the trailer. He was kind of dreading the downtown delivery, but I’ve ridden with him, he’s one of those guys who can thread a needle with that truck, and when his going into cities he will often call the police and ask a car to escort him in on the best route so he doesn’t get stuck or block traffic.
Probably won’t see him again until sometime the week of Christmas, so I sent him off with a bag of my best Christmas cookies. The rest of the family will get theirs later this week. I have one killer cookie recipe that everyone loves so much. It is so dadgummed aggravating to make that it happens one time a year only. Good thing too, you really can’t stop eating these.
The tree went up yesterday and today I’ll put out the decorations, including a beautiful nativity set my pal Wee sent me, one of my most special Christmas treasures.

Sounds like a lovely weekend, Menage! Yes, we got quite a lot of snow on Saturday, and my family was traveling home through it, so along with the road construction, their trip took longer than usual. Fortunately it was warmer yesterday (in the high 30’s, not really “warm”), so much of the snow is melted.
I don’t bake much at Christmas any more, as I would just eat them, but I may make molasses cookies just before Christmas, or maybe shortbread. Everybody will be here for Christmas this year, so I’m looking forward to it. Will put up the tree later this week.

Mornin’ All. No real news here. 60* and sunny, very sunny. Loki got up, had her walk, had her breakfast, and is now taking her morning nap. They ran the first season of All Creatures Great and Small yesterday. Now I can’t wait until the new season starts, sometime after the first of the year. Well, we are going to go see Ghostbusters and then stop for lunch. It appears that we will be inundated with more scarinews all week. Buy for now.

All Creatures Great and Small is a really good series. I look forward to the new ones. I watch it on Acorn TV.

I have something new to try, can’t wait. It looks really good, and I so loved all his books.

Mrs. T and I started watching the old mini-series, Centennial over the weekend. Watched the first six episodes yesterday, and will wrap up over Christmas holiday.

Oh, that was a good one. I also like the other one based on Michener, Space.

Also, Pasquinel and McKeag were larger than life characters. I never forgot them, and Centennial has lived on in my mind because of them. Great cast in that mini series.

Turkey and dumplings for dinner. Yum!

I’m still on leftovers in creative ways…

Well, turkey and dumplings is a good way to use them. Small dice carrots, onion, celery, mushrooms, diced cooked turkey, flour, leftover gravy and broth, a little dry white wine, cream, thyme, salt and pepper. Made dumplings with white lily flour, butter and buttermilk.
