It is even lovelier in real life. Not far from the town of Marble, CO. That is where the marble came from that was used in the Lincoln Memorial. That is the Crystal River.

And yes, I went up there by 4×4. Pretty rough trail, but beautiful country.

Good morning everyone. Hope your weekend was full of good things.
We had three of the grandchildren over for a fun filled time. They helped me put out my few remaining fall decorations in the dining room, and we did some crafts, then had a surprise party last night at one of my sons’ homes.
He has mastered smoking and wow, what an excellent meal we had, featuring a huge tomahawk steak and two tri tip roasts. After several years of bread making hiatus, due to moving and injury, I’ve enjoyed a few weeks of playing with my sourdough.
And today we all settle down and get back to work and school. It sure is nice to have an infusion of great fun every once in awhile.

Mornin’ All. Beautiful day here, again. Sunny, humid, but very pleasant. We are back from our morning walk, Loki has had her breakfast, and is settled down for her morning nap. LOL. She is keeping one eye out for any passersby who might need to be barked at. I am just relaxing and cooling off from the walk. Hope everyone has a nice day.

When I lived in CO, I found that the gambling houses up in the mountains, faced an enormous problem; they were attached to hotels. The water entering the river from the hotels’ output had to be cleaner, more purified than when it entered the hotel, straight out of the river. This caused the hotels to have to ship all the laundry (sheets, towels, table cloths, napkins, etc,, down to Commerce City, 60 miles away. It also caused the hotels to have to have 4 sets of everything, because half their stock was either in transit, or at the laundry. Rooms in these hotels are expensive.

The last time I was in Colorado (quite a few years ago now) we went gambling in, I think, Blackhawk. Personally, gambling isn’t a favorite of mine, and I’m happy that they limit it to only a few places in the state.

Now that I think about it, it was Central City!

I would wager that the powers-that-be wouldn’t be all that upset over something happening to the Senator. Of course, they’re too stupid to realize that if something happens to her, the Gov in AZ is an R, and very likely to appoint another R to that spot and slow walk the special election. These mentally ill people cannot think past their immediate ADD-fueled rage of the moment.
