Good morning Lucille. Once I rode with my son in his truck for over a week, up through New England in the fall. Among other states, we went through Pennsylvania, Delaware, Connecticut, New York, New Hampshire, Vermont, wound up in Maine. Breathtaking beauty, all over the place.

It had been such a warm fall that we were able to stroll along the empty beach and wade in the ocean. Then we went to a wonderful restaurant, had lobster, crab, and wild blueberry pie. It’s one of my best memories.

That sound like a great trip. And, special, to do it with your son.

      • What a great vacation to just drive around for a week looking at & enjoying beautiful nature with someone you love. That is really my idea of luxury. Sounds like a wonderful time.
That’s the best – when it’s sunny, not too humid, and just warm enough to really enjoy the beautiful scenery and nature we have: forests, lakes, mountains, and seashore. That is AFTER the majority of “leaf peepers” and other tourists leave 😉, but before the winter stampede of skiers and snowboarders starts.
When I was younger a few times I went to the beach & swam in the ocean on my birthday in October. It’s sounds odd to swim in the northern Atlantic Ocean in October, but it’s a LOT warmer than in the spring! The ocean has had all summer to heat up.
Isn’t the local blueberry pie great! I LUV blueberry pie! I put a very small amount of cinnamon and real maple syrup (the only kind allowed here or you’re shunned) in it – and NO lemon! If I want a lemon pie, I’ll make a lemon pie! Blueberries grow wild all over the place here, along with blackberries. The wild blackberries are over-taking much of my yard!

    • Thank you Lucille 🙂
That was certainly a good year for color. Living in New England my whole life, you forget other places do not have the changes in seasons. I think I would really miss it if I lived elsewhere, although it would be nice if black fly & pothole season were just a day each! Hahaha! 😉

YW, G&C! We have so many pines and firs in Idaho that they sort of take over the trees which season-change. But there are still enough reds and yellows to make some sections really colorful.

Mornin’ All. Weather same here. My wasp stings are much better today. They just itched yesterday and still kept spreading. But, they are not as bright red and smaller around than they have been. No itching so far this morning. Oh, I see a cardinal on my swing outside. I don’t usually see them. How cool! Well, I hope you all have a nice day.

The Squalid “Squad” Is Trying to Destroy Bipartisan Support for Israel
    by Alan M. Dershowitz • September 23, 2021 at 5:00 am

The fact that the Squad picked on the Iron Dome to make its stand against Israel is significant. The Iron Dome is a system developed jointly by the United States and Israel that is purely defensive. It does not kill, injure, or threaten anyone. It only protects civilians against war crimes committed by terrorist groups that direct lethal rockets against innocent civilians.

The fact that the Squad would try to deny Israel the right to defend its civilians speaks volumes about the lack of morality and decency among Squad members and their allies.

It follows from this effort that the Squad will oppose any and all aid to Israel, including protecting its innocent civilians against Iran’s nuclear threat. The obvious goal of Squad members is to deny Israel the right to defend itself against aggression. At least one of its members has denied that Israel has the right to exist.

These bigoted actions directly violate the platform of the Democratic Party (as well as that of the Republican Party). The Democratic Party must decide whether it will become captive to its most extreme wing or whether it will marginalize these radicals who are not only anti-Israel but, in many ways, anti-American. They are intolerant of dissent and due process for those who disagree with them. They are anti-police, anti-military, and anti-free market economy.

The time has come, indeed it is long past, for the Democratic leadership to stand strong against the anti-American, anti-Israel and anti-decency squalid Squad. The leadership can no longer stand idly by the bigotry of their members. If they persist in tolerating the intolerable, they will lose the support of the all-important mainstream voters.

SHAMEFUL: South Korean President Travels to Hawaii to Repatriate US Servicemembers’ Remains — Biden Admin Skips Event, Sends No One

South Korean President Moon Jae-in meets with Admiral John Aquilino, U.S. Navy Commander, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, in a ceremony Wednesday at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. Moon paid his respects to 68 Korean and six American service members “who made the ultimate sacrifice for freedom and peace of the Republic of Korea” some 70 years ago and were repatriated back to their home countries. The first joint U.S.-South Korea repatriation ever held in Hawaii saw remains of South Korean soldiers from the 1950-53 Korean War that had been in the possession of the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency placed aboard a white Korean government 747 at Hickam.

RICK BALLARD: Abbott should announce a special Border Rodeo event for the Texas Rangers. Maybe deputize any cowboys who were willing to participate in a general roundup as well.

  8. Afternoon All! 🙂
I was looking for a Forbes painting with a lot of gorgeous green to go with that beautiful image Stella posted, but no such luck. Apparently if you go by his paintings there are an awful lot of cloudy, gray days in Cornwall no matter what “Escape to the Country” shows!
Here is “The Farmer’s Boy” By Forbes. Some Green, & a beautiful white horse highlighted by the darker background:

    Some day I’ll get in b4 it’s late! Sigh…
Have a great rest of the day everyone! 🙂

My guess is that she’s looking at her re-election chances, and getting lots of pushback from unions. That, and Michigan has a R-majority legislature (which many people don’t know). I’m happy about it, no matter the reason.

Well, looks like Biden, et al. are keeping the Canadian border closed. Lost revenue via tourism for both sides of the border…and nothing but total loss from every standpoint for the southern border including letting those into the country who have the Wuhan which shows it’s not about the virus at all.

It takes a lot to infuriate our Arctic neighbors, but the Biden administration makes it look easy. The U.S.-Canada border is closed to Canadians for another month, said Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, although air travel restrictions were lifted for dozens of countries, including Canada. The northern border has been restricted to “essential travel” since March 2020.
