Good morning everyone. Rain stopped yesterday, late in the day. I don’t know today’s forecast, I know more rain is coming, but for a little while we had some sunshine. The really good thing was the high was 78 degrees. That part felt good.

Mornin’ All. Weather same. News getting worse. I think I will just ignore it today. Have some chores to do and need to make a deposit at the bank. The trees around my apt got trimmed yesterday. They thinned them out in case of a storm. It helps to let the wind through the branches in case of a storm. That way the whole tree doesn’t tend to fall on the building and the rotten limbs are cut off. Hope things are better where you are.

Hope your day is progressing nicely. Ignoring the news is probably good advice. The horrors being revealed are just making me angrier and angrier and it’s doing me no good mentally or physically. I should just hang it up for the day and concentrate on happier things or at least on things I can do something concrete about.

It’s a very pleasant day out and is only 69 degrees heading to 72. Love the cool breeze!

Well, it is almost 5:30 and pouring rain, which I did not expect because the weather guessers did not mention anything about rain or a t-storm. Go figure. I watched a western starring Brian Donleavy (I think he was) and Maureen O’hara. She usually is so glamorous, but not in this. She still was so beautiful. And, I think she is really a great actress. Shooting bad guys, killing Indians, shooting a horse who broke his leg, killing a rattler, seeing the female get smacked, etc. was not as bad as watching the news.

Loki has special bottled water in her bowl and where is she drinking? From the rain water that collects in the sliding glass door track which probably is muddy or at the very least, dusty. 🙄

They did say the heat index was 104* today. It was about 90* out and miserable.

Look how many national “leaders” are co-opted by the CCP…and, of course, it’s just the tip of the iceberg….

Top Anti-Audit Democrats Took China Trips Sponsored By Communist Influence Group.
August 18, 2021 by NATALIE WINTERS

‘NewDEAL Leaders’ – a network of progressive state and local officials including those suppressing audits of the 2020 election – has collaborated extensively with a Chinese Communist Party-backed influence group seeking to “neutralize opposition” to the regime, The National Pulse can reveal.

Alumni of the program also include Joe Biden’s Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg and failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams. Among the current chairs of the coalition, which “identifies, cultivates, and provides policy support to a network of 175 rising state and local Democrats,” is Delaware Senator Chris Coons, dubbed the “Biden Whisperer” and a “power player” among the president’s inner circle by Politico.

Found this bit of good news at DecisionDeskHq….

Republican Ryan Fazio won the special election last night in Connecticut’s 36th state Senate district to deny the Democrats a super-majority in the body. The seat is the first state legislative district to flip to Republicans this year. It was historically a GOP seat but had been held by Democrats since 2018.

Federal judge blocks Obama-era mandate removing pro-life conscience protections
    By Laura Nicole | August 17, 2021

In a major victory for pro-life health care providers, a federal court has blocked a mandate requiring physicians to participate in abortions as instructed by their employers or face steep penalties. The Obama-era mandate was previously blocked by courts but the Biden-Harris administration attempted to resurrect it.
