Stellars…Some very different scenes which just appealed to me….

“Organisms in Hot Geysers, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming” – Photograph by Soumitra Pendse – Interesting how I found this photo…I googled color photos by Ansel Adams and this came up. Thinking that Adams photos usually have captions, I searched around some more and up popped a website for this fellow from Mumbai, India who claims the photo is his. He’s somewhat known in India as a 20-year professional advertising photographer; so I don’t think he’s likely to be laying claim to one of Adams’ color photos without a few folks objecting. Even the link has Adams’ name connected. Strange.

“Tissiac (Half Dome), Spring Storm Sunset” (2018) – Artist: James McGrew – 24″ x 30″
Oil on Linen – Yosemite National Park…

Farragut State Park, Athol, Idaho (Credit: AnnMarie Vandecar) – The park was a World War II naval training station…

    Have an uncomplicated day!

Hopefully at the final tally this woman is still ahead in the vote…Washington state has open primaries. So it boils down to the possibility of having two Democrats run against each other in November or this Republican and a Dem.

Stella’s photo of the day is of Plitvice Lakes, Croatia. An incredibly beautiful spot. Here’s a 2CELLOS vid taped at Plitvice in 2014 (the guys look so young)….

Good morning all. The heat is back. Yesterday was about 95, and we have more heat coming all week. Some rain expected which will just make it worse. Nothing like watching that steam rise up from the asphalt and concrete. Ah well, my favorite time of year will be here soon.

Today I will have three of the grandkids with me all day. I wanted another day with them before school starts Thursday. As we adults always say, they grow up too soon. It really seems that way with grandkids even more.

I stumbled across articles and comments about seminaries requiring students to get vaccinated before they return this fall. The ones I saw listed were a few Catholic seminaries but I’d bet there are many others also doing this. I am absolutely opposed to mandatory vaccination, and I think it is a great wrong to ask young men (or women) to give up the independent choice for their own health and well being to follow their vocation.

Catholic bishops appear to be all in on vaccines and no one gets into a seminary without a very lengthy screening process culminating with a bishop’s approval. So, if they can’t return for choosing not to vaccinate they are very unlikely to be reinstated or able to go through another bishop later.

Of course, no word on bishops requiring vaccines on all those illegal aliens they pour into unsuspecting areas of the country through the government millions they get to relocate them. No a single peep about that. Most Catholics are totally unaware of those programs. And sadly, many would whine with sympathy for the “workers.” Many Catholics have a whitewashed, factionalized, romanticized view of illegal aliens and how they will live when they get here. And many can’t do math. As in 2+2 million equals billions in bills, and who will pay.

Stella, lookin’ like you gotta do what Sundance did and ditch Word Press! This is a low life group!

    • stella says:

Correction: WordPress ditched Sundance. Besides that, it cost him thousands of dollars (and continues to cost him thousands every month) to do so. That is why he has reinstituted ads for the income.

My income from this blog is less than $20 a month. I can’t afford to ditch WordPress.

I’m sorry that you are annoyed, but that isn’t a good enough reason to make a change at this time. Since I pay an annual fee to keep this blog, I just about break even as it is, and earn nothing you would consider income. I do it for fun.

There’s not a single ad which pops up on your blog today. Just a lot of blank spaces. Ordinarily there are dozens.

Something strange is going on with my computer today. The Republican Daily which I go to every day is now blocked to me. And a devotional I wanted to subscribe to put out by a pastor who was on President Trump’s religious advisory committee is also unopenable. A warning pops up indicating that accessing the site might lead to phishing, blah, blah, etc.

I’m sure it’s my old browser version, but it’s strange that the “political” websites are going south. If my nephew ever gets to come across the border to see me, I’ll definitely have him take me to Apple to get a new hard drive, even though they are $500 more now than they were last year when he was going to assist me and could not come because of the Wuhan restrictions. I need someone trustworthy and knowledgeable about all that to accompany me.

I stumbled across this just now. I’m sharing it here for the awesome story more than the recipe. I had no idea about this Jewish observance of the destruction of the Temple. This lady used to comment here.

Mornin’ all. Sunny, hot, blah, blah, blah. l am meeting my friend this morning to go pick up her new pistol and practice shooting it. Then, we will probably have lunch. I have been trying to get her set up for emergencies, like the power going out, etc. She usually has a lot of tv-dinners in her freezer, but I reminded her that a lot of that can be lost real quick when the power goes out. So, I talked her into buying more canned goods and things that will last longer. She is pretty well set up now. Well, later Gators.

Good morning, aus! We’re overcast and heading to only 85 today. The cool air is soooo nice.

Re canned goods, they all contain sodium. I have to keep track of my intake each day and it’s a real bore but also a challenge. Depending upon what else a person eats during the day, sodium overload can happen. Even so-called low sodium soups have a huge percentage, but it’s better than the salted up soups. However, if you’ve ever been tempted to try low-sodium Rtiz crackers, don’t…they just aren’t the same without the salt…LOL!

Taliban Seizes 6th Provincial Capital in Afghanistan; Government Retreats ‘Without Fighting’
BY JACK PHILLIPS August 9, 2021 Updated: August 9, 2021
The Taliban terrorist group took a sixth provincial capital in about as many days in northern Afghanistan amid claims that government forces simply retreated without fighting.

All the effort to train the people to defend themselves was a big waste of time, men and materiel. What a terrible shame!

With all seriousness, I can say they will have terrible trouble with chips down here. It’s a religious thing. A large portion of our population are very conservative in their beliefs and practices, and many equate the chip to the Mark of the Beast at worst, or a secular turning away from God at best.

Not only will they refuse to comply, it might just create one hell of an uprising, and more power to them. Would that more Catholics had the courage of their good convictions.

Went out for a drive this afternoon. Four miles from my house I was rear ended at a light. Less than 100 miles on the car, and I have to pay the deductible, since we are no fault state.
