Bright and sunny today, getting hot, possibly rain later. Good news is the rain is supposed to ease up by Thursday, when the plumber has arranged for digging up the yard and under the house in NO to replace all the sewer lines. Horribly expensive but has to be done to sell the house.

Good morning, czarina! And then after digging up the yard, the grass will need to be repaired and new plants put in.

LOL! The bed of a Ford F-150 might be more like it. If you’ve been using the house as income property, talk to your accountant re tax deductions even if your plan is to sell it. Or does putting it on the sales market negate the income property designation?

We didn’t live in it for the past 2 years, so everything is taxable, except deductions for base costs. Fortunately renovations done before I put it on the market probably will come to well over 3/4 of what it sells for, and I may avoid taxes entirely

Mornin’ All. Hot, humid, yada, yada, yada. It started pouring last night, so when I put Loki out to go pee, she just turned right around and came back in. I told her “no”, she had to go pee, so she went back out, did it and hurriedly came back. When I first got her, she would not go out in the rain, no matter what. I have come to think she might have been afraid I would leave her out in it. She knows now I won’t. My rain gauge showed only a 1/4 inch. Doesn’t seem like enough to me. Anyway, hope you all have a nice day. Politically, things seem to be moving pretty quickly. Hard to keep up with.

This is quite a story! Read the thread to get the whole story. She was a one-time socialite who had 10 children then, after her husband died, gave away all of her worldly goods and spent her last 30 years in a Carmelite convent.

So I woke up at 6:30, let the dogs and cats out, and decided to clean the kitchen, including getting rid of stuff that’s broken or really not needed. Got mostly done, took a trip to the dump to get rid of some of that stuff plus broken things from the yard which GGS helped me pick up yesterday between the rain storms. Returned and freshened up the guest bedroom so it’s ready when a friend plans to visit the last week of June. Now have to choose between finishing in the kitchen (clean out the cabinet above the oven) or going through more of Czar’s books (to donate to the library).

😅. Gotta work with it when it happens. I needed to tackle something because I was feeling down and overwhelmed by how much still needs to be done. My To-Do lists seem to get longer even tho I cross things off as done everyday.

I’ve got seven boxes of clothes, jewelry, books, kitchen items, and collectible china/pottery/glass awaiting my friends today to take to our local animal rescue thrift shop. In searching through my closet shelves I located a pair of shoes stashed in a plastic grocery bag.

What’s unusual about that, you might ask? Well, as is my wont when I find a pair of shoes that fit perfectly, I purchase an additional pair. I was absolutely sure I had purchased a 2nd pair eight years ago of a wonderful pair of Wolverine oxfords. But what with moving to Canada, putting most of my possessions in storage and then moving back to the States nearly a year later, I absolutely could not find the shoes and was convinced I had only imagined purchasing them. Five years into living in my present residence, I found them. Now I’m sorry for having beaten myself over the head for so many years thinking I was going nutzoid.

If it weren’t for the Wuhan and subsequent/continued closing of the Canadian border, all these items would have gone to my large extended family to go through and use. The family’s loss is doggie and kitty gain.

P.S. Those particular Wolverine shoes are no longer in production as often happens with shoes I love…and I love a lotta shoes (just call me the Imelda Marcos of northern Idaho). So I couldn’t just go out and purchase another pair at the time the oxfords went missing. Strange thing is, I remember purchasing those particular cloth storage boxes where I found the shoes but absolutely do not remember putting them in such a strange spot away from all my other shoes. Maybe I really AM going nutzoid! LOL!

We are starting to see stories of people pushing back on all of this nonsense. This article from a woman who pushed back on her woke employees and beat them. She is sharing some of the tools. Much like the group Parents Defending Education. We need the tools.

Very interesting write-up. The author certainly had the virtue of patience on her side. When someone is accusing you of being racist, sexist and a white supremacist using lies and unproven/substantiated “evidence” it’s not the easiest thing in the world to remain calm, logical and unaffected emotionally. My hat’s off to her.

Yeah, when confronted with that, I usually smile and walk away. It would take a lot of training for me to be able to do what she is saying needs to be done.
