Thanks, Stella, for all the beautiful birdies this week. One of my neighbors told me we have wild turkeys in our area, though I’ve never seen one, only heard them…

We had a bunch of them near my old office. They would actually parade across the street, blocking traffic. Them and the Canadian Geese!

We had several in the area when we moved here. I know because I saw them clustered up on the road one day, about a dozen. Another time Czar found them trying to land and sit on the roof, sliding off onto the truck! Haven’t seen any in a while, might be b/c of the dogs.

Been to Lake Manawa several times; Dad grew up there, but Dad was more interested in taking us up in the bluffs, where the Indian councils used to meet, hence the name Council Bluffs. We found a couple three arrowheads even so many years after the Indians moved out.

That farmhouse looks just like Uncle Merrill’s minus the pig pen by the barn, outside Neola, Iowa. Outhouse in the back. Let me tell you about outhouses in the dead of night during an Iowa winter as a little girl…

Hi, Jeans! When I was in 1st grade through 4th grade my family lived in a house out in the country which was an uncompleted new build. Until my Dad got the toilet installed in the house (he did all the work himself), we had an outhouse.

But that was in southern California where the winters seldom got below 55 degrees. It did snow one year, I think when I was in 1st grade. Unfortunately, I had the measles and couldn’t go outside to play in the snow which lasted on the ground for maybe two days. To compensate, Mom made me a small snowman which she put in a metal basin and sat by my bed.

YW, weather! Wanting woke automatons seems to be the going thing. There’s been problems with the Air Force leadership for years. Apparently they want folks who can’t think on their feet. Standing up for the Constitution and our American way of life is so yesterday and white supremacist to them. Talk about playing right into the hands of our enemies!

Sure hope you are correct re: political arena.
There are several officers who were “retired” by Obama who have recently decided to speak out now and do something.

Yesterday and Friday were great: coolish, dry, low humidity. Starting to feel more moist outside, and warm. I’m working in the shade, breaking down last year’s garden, and I’ve already been through two sweat towels.

Cooking concoction of the day. I had some deli ham that needed to be used before it went over. I checked the pantry and came up with this.

    1 small chopped onion
    2 cloves of chopped garlic
    cubed deli ham
Cup (or so) of leftover Stubbs bbq sauce (I didn’t measure)
    1 14-oz can diced tomatoes
1/4 cup (or so) brown sugar
    1 can cannellini beans, drained
    1 can garbanzo beans, drained

Saute onion and garlic in oil. Add other ingredients and bring to a boil. Cook for 10 or so minutes, then eat!

ADD: This would probably be good baked too.

I forgot to say that I also added a large spoon full of tomato paste.

They are probably feral rescues. I adopted a pair (one of each sex) and they were never normal feline pets. They were very difficult to train to the litter box, for one thing. I think kittens like this were never trained properly by their mothers.

        • weather257 says:

We’ve had many feral of all ages and all used a litter box when confined; we’ve had singles and litter mates but never adoped a pair. That you had a similar experience with a pair could indicate competition, and we all know how cats act when competing. All said and done, all animals have unique personalities, and it’s hard to predict their behavior by any measure (bless ’em).

The female feral escaped the house during the first year and never came back. The male was with me until he was 13, but he was never fastidious about using the cat box. Otherwise, he was a great pet.

Boy, Lucille, I am really skeptical about this one.
Who stores large data files on a router? Routers direct traffic and connect to another router(s) or switch(s), depending on traffic.

Large data files are stored on servers, which usually connect to another router or a switch that connects to a router, depending on traffic.
Kinda hard to believe the physics has changed that significantly.

The article says CodeMonkey (Ron) is back, on Telegram using CodeMonkeyZ, but only shows one entry.
CodeMonkey is back on twitter as well (CodeMonkeyTaken).

The stench is getting worse and worse coming off of Mr. Gates. Funny how just a month or so ago, he was the talk of all the cool billionaires with his recent farm purchases. Now, it’s coming out that the Microsoft board was going to kick him to the curb, and apparently he got the message and quit. Hope some of this will make him slow his roll with the vaxxer crowd. Among many things.
