Decades ago, my vet told me not to be concerned about my chubby cat…he said it’s not harmful like overweight dogs. Years later, the cat died from an autoimmune intestinal disease – literally starved to death. Vets now stress dental health and I brush our cat’s teeth 3-4 times a week. They can die if the bacteria around their gums becomes toxic.

When I met Czar, he had a black & white cat who slept on his head. Some people are much too tolerant….

My now deceased cat, Cooper, used to recline on top of the bird cage. Hamish removed one of his nipples! OUCH!

I had hamsters, and later mice, who had to live under reclining cats. No physical damage done to either, as I recall.
