Still say this is a Paul Ryan hit job on McCarthy via Fox.
McCarthy has changed his tune recently, starting singing America First, and has been paying homage at Mara Lago, while turning against the NeoCon/LibCon/Cheney War Machine.
What better way for Ryan to continue to control things?

The important part to me was Luntz is a lobbyist. That I did not know, and changes everything in my mind. Who in their right mind lives with a Google lobbyist? I thought Luntz was a GOP pollster.
Most everyone in D.C. must have known.
Pelosi prob already has the ethics probe underway.
Funny how Pres Trump seemed to know all along. Pres Trump has mentioned Luntz several times.
