    3. Good day to you, WeeWeed! The difference, beyond the obvious, between Lincoln and Bide-Harr? Bide-Harr is working to enslave Americans who aren’t Democrats while Lincoln’s premise was: ” As I would not be a slave, so I would not be a master. This expresses my idea of democracy.”

  4. Mornin’ from the son of sunny coast of Florida. There is a hazy sky, but the sun is actually shining through and the water is all sparkly silver. I don’t know what the temperature is, but it is hot and humid already. Wish you were here. Making breakfast now. Later, Gators.

  5. Oooh! Oooh! I know! I know! The top picture is basil. We grow it to make insalata caprese: a layer of sliced tomato, a slice of provolone, a layer of basil, repeat. Dress with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and salt and pepper.

    1. Sounds pretty healthy, though in moderation (cheese). Reminds me we just read that Epicurious is no longer publishing beef recipies to ‘help fight global warming.’ Another site off the list!

  6. This is a very touching episode of Antiques Roadshow UK. Season 43 – Special Episode | The Battle of Britain (July 10, 1940 – October 31, 1940) & the Blitz (September 7, 1940 – May 11, 1941)

Fiona Bruce presents a special episode of Antiques Roadshow commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain and the Blitz. Combining stories from all over the country with a special event filmed at Biggin Hill airfield, the programme tells the story of a defining moment in Britain’s war through the people and objects who were there.

Fiona begins the programme onboard an iconic Supermarine Spitfire, flying over the Weald of Kent. Then, she and the team uncover the stories behind family mementos, including a scramble bell that got pilots into the air, ops room models that tracked their every move, and a steering column from a British fighter shot down in combat. We also hear first-hand from the pilot of that downed plane, pilot officer John Hemingway – one of the last remaining pilots with combat experience from the Battle of Britain.
