Good morning, weather! The dear little Shih Tzu looks just like my darling boy Harley. Such a character. Whenever we had guests for dinner or whatever, we allowed him to join us because he never begged or made a nuisance of himself. However, we always knew that at one point in the evening, he’d plant himself in the middle of the room, lay on his back and do his rollies and growlies to get attention.

I have the impression the Shih Tzu is a very intelligent breed.

Super smart. I never gave Harley any instruction. He taught himself everything…how to walk off-leash was one thing. If he got ahead a bit further than I liked, all I said was “Wait” and he would sit down on the sidewalk. The first time he did that, it just floored me when he seemed to know what I was telling him.
Shih Tzu’s can also be stubborn when they want. Harley would not come to anyone when they called him, including me. He wouldn’t run away or anything, but instead just look at the caller as if to say, “Why?”

Just like our BD, except no puppies. She was lying by the road, all but starved to death and Czar stopped to check her, brought her home and she is wonderful! Even looks like her!

Totally…LOL! Of course, dogs are natural emotional support beings. But even for them, it’s got to be a bit much to listen to some folks.
