I started skipping the oscars years ago. I got so tired of them patting themselves on the back and being so proud of their stupid, vapid movies. So, after a bath, I will come back and watch these guys.

Ditto re the Oscars. Can’t remember the last time I watched.

At one time, many years ago, it was fun to watch the Stars win. Now we don’t even know who these “stars” are, or as I call them “starlets” because they are put in one movie because they are cheaper than a real seasoned actor. And, so many of the movies are trash anyway. Then, they stacked politics on top of everything else.

And then there are the “statements” some feel they must make… Actually, I think the last time I watched Jack Palance did a one arm push up.

LOL I think that was my last one, too.

People still watch the Oscars?

Czar hated them, and although MANY years ago I did watch them, I quickly found them irrelevant and agree with Aus.

I watched the entire Oscars once, years ago. I had been invited to an Oscar party at a friend’s home. People were encouraged to dress formally, all sorts of fancy foods and drinks were served, and throughout the night, the hostess would change into different fancy dresses (all purchased at second hand stores) and do a “fashion show”. The Oscars themselves were secondary to the social gathering.
I never got invited to another one of her parties. She found out I was not a leftist when she made comments on social media about conservatives and fascism. I happened to be reading a book on the history of fascism when she posted, and pointed out that fascism was a liberal ideology. She unfriended me and the only time I saw her after that was when we happened to run into each other in a grocery store. LOL
I got cancelled before being cancelled was cool! 😀
