Good morning, aus! The sun is shining in my window, a cool breeze is blowing, and I’m grateful winter is over and we had a very mild one. God bless!

Good morning, Menagerie! Hope your son took lots of photos. I’ve always appreciated family travel photos. My Dad usually took a lot of slide photos, most of which I passed on to my oldest nephew. Such fun to look back on.

Because my father worked for Braniff Airways, we travelled for free to many places. We went to Peru the year I graduated from high school, but could not go to Cuzco nor Manchu Pichu because my father had a bad heart and could not tolerate the altitude. Too bad, because it was not much visited back then (1967) and tourists pretty much had it to themselves.

50* morning at l Gordito. Gonna head north to about 90* later today. Our favorite Sunday columnist takes on the “media” and their “reporting” of the Chauvin trial. Let’s just say she’s not impressed. Headin’ back to the big city later today. :/

It has been raining since last night, off and on. It poured for an hour or so last night and then some after we went to bed. This morning the sun was partially out and then about 10:00 or so it started pouring and we had a pretty good t-storm. Loki needed to go out and I took her to the door and opened it. She took one look out and turned around. I told her she needed to go out and go potty. Then, she turned around and went back to the door, so I opened it and she ran out, took a pee, and came right back in. What a smart little doggie. I used to have to fight with Foxy since she really hated getting wet.

My friend finally found a place to get her COVID 19 antibody test. She had to fill out a form and make an appt. So, she got that done this morning. She is considering getting the vaccine if she doesn’t have the antibodies. I am afraid this other friend’s daughter will insist on her having the vaccine even if she does have the antibodies. She really doesn’t want to take it.

I have had both doses of the Pfizer vaccine (the 2nd on March 30), and the only side effect I had was a sore arm for a day or so.

There are people dying from this vaccine. A few days ago, I wrote about a doctor, an obstetrician, who said 3 of his patients have died of the vaccine and he made this woman I know, a patient of his, promise him that she would not let anyone talk her into getting the vaccine under any circumstances. That rapper that just died was said to have OD’d but his family said he had gotten the vaccine just a week earlier and had not taken any drugs. They are hiding these numbers just like they used most deaths to increase the COVID deaths. They have even admitted this.

There are several different vaccines. The rapper died of a heart attack. Every medical procedure, medication and vaccine has a certain amount (usually very small) risk.

For example, more than 3 million people have been vaccinated thus far in my state. There is no indication of significant death.

Typical Leftist crap, Dropping not so subtle hints about what is to happen. I would say that if there is enough screaming at them, it would not happen. But I don’t know because no one has dared hollered to any degree to a Leftist.
Political Axiom; “What is more difficult to find in Washington, DC, a Democrat with a conscience or a Republican with a Spine”.

The political establishment was silent when 0bama became a candidate for President. and again when he ran in 2012. That emboldened the Left to dare to commit massive voter fraud to claim a win in 2020 and again, not much objection.
The heiress has less of a claim on citizenship than did 0bama. Neither of her parents were citizens.

Bought a pork shoulder for $1.19 a pound today. What would you do with it? It’s a bone-in and 7.6 pounds. I’m thinking part of it barbecued (dry rub on low heat and finished with barbecue sauce), and part of it with sauerkraut and apples.

I’ll be over for the kraut and apples. Mine were always done with homemade kraut and our own apples, but hey, store-bought works.

I use jarred sauerkraut and prepare it as follows:

Drain thoroughly. Add cider vinegar, a little water and brown sugar to the sauerkraut. Peel and chop some apple and add it to the sauerkraut. Sometimes I add caraway seed. Brown the pork, and place it on top of the sauerkraut in a covered baking dish and bake at about 350 for an hour and a half or two hours.

I used to buy the bagged sauerkraut because I thought it was fresher. Found out that they have to add preservatives to the bagged kraut because the plastic bags are permeable.

Czar cut slits and put sliced pieces of garlic in them, then marinated it in plastic bags in Mojo Criollo & Bitter Orange (comes in bottles from Latin American stores, or on the internet: La Lechonera brand name). Marinate for 2-3 days, then roast in a covered pan 300* until it falls apart.

I have been watching Radioactive about Marie Curie. I thought it would be interesting since I didn’t know much about her life. It was pretty depressing. I don’t think they should have covered over the negative things, but, for goodness sakes, it seems they did everything they could to make it look like everything bad that happened in the world was her fault.
