Love the pictures Lucille. I’m not a fan of pink at all, except pink flowers. I love them. And that bouquet is perfect.

I would love to live in one of those colorful houses in the last picture. That would be fine.

Me too, Menagerie; but I don’t know about Scotland. Heard from my cousin in Aberdeenshire last month…he was looking forward to his 2nd ‘stick’ (covid shot) so he could travel to the west on holidays this spring. I think the UK is milking this thing for everything it’s worth. So sad in such a pretty country.

While I believe that it is wrong for government to insist that everyone be vaccinated, I also believe that the decision to have a vaccination is up to the individual and is neither wrong nor right. I decided to be vaccinated myself. So far I have been well and haven’t grown any extra body parts.

I also think that the scaremongering about the Covid vaccine is based in ignorance, but that is just my opinion. Frankly, most of what is said doesn’t make sense to me.

The virus is real, the pandemic is a hoax! Why should I inject poison in myself for the prevention of 99% recovery? I believe in my immune system God gave me! Masks don’t work for the prevention of a virus. That would be the equivalent of using a cyclone fence and calling that mosquito netting! This all about control of the human! I LMAO when I see some lemming driving by their self and wearing a mask! Is the steering wheel gonna give ya the virus??? Wake up America! You can ASK me to wear a mask, don’t FORCE me to wear a mask! Laws are made by the Legislature, not Judicial or Executive Branches!

Oh please. Have you ever had a flu shot? Having a vaccine isn’t a political statement.

Yes I believe in the immune system. I also believe in vaccines. As an older woman with underlying medical conditions, I have followed the guidance of my doctor and my hospital. These are experts that I have hired to take care of my health. Yes, I made the decision, but why should I do what some fear mongerers say I should on the internet over that of my doctor?

I know that the risk of my getting polio was removed by having a polio shot when I was 7. Ditto with the smallpox vaccine, which was been in use in one form or another since the 1700’s, and resulted in the eradication world-wide of a hideous disease.

Moreover, I was not talking about masks, but if someone decides to wear one, it doesn’t hurt me. I have said that I don’t believe in government shutdowns or mandates related to Covid. I agree with you there, but you might want to ask yourself why you are so angry at your fellow citizens for exercising their rights. If someone is wearing a mask, does it hurt you?

We beat smallpox, why are they dicking around with it in the lab???? Most elders WERE vaccinated against smallpox! ALL younger crowd, not so much! What is the adjuvant in the vaccine for covid? Mercury or aluminum? You want me to put that into my system that the virus has a 99% recovery from??? What planet do you think I’m from??? I HAD the virus, why are you forcing me to mask up and prolly vaccinate??? If you want to wear a mask, go for it! Wear the whole box if that’s what floats your boat! I torpedo your attempt to force that on me! I had to vaccinate out my rear end when I went to S.E. Asia in the 70’s. Those days are long gone never to return in my existing life! NO MORE!!!!! Any company that forces a mask on me today, will NEVER see my business in the future, BANK ON IT!

You get more aluminum in your regular diet than you will ever get from vaccines, besides which neither the Pfizer vaccine (the one I had) nor the Moderna vaccine contain either aluminum or mercury.

If you have had the virus already, I don’t know why you would need to have the vaccine.

I am not trying to FORCE you to do anything; I’m not even trying to convince you to vaccinate OR wear a mask. I do wonder at your level of anger, though.

Can’t you understand that I have the liberty to decide what to do, just as I recognize your right to do what you decide to do?

Your words seem to indicate anger, Pa.
Your choices are fine and work well for you, and you should stick with them until convinced otherwise.

But others have reached different conclusions, based on their own unique circumstances. Do you not think they should be afforded the same respect for their choices as given to you for your choices?

PS: Smallpox has been eradicated world-wide; therefore there is more risk than benefit from having a smallpox vaccine. There is always some risk from getting a vaccine, although it is very small. The live-virus polio vaccine (Sabin) is no longer given because its risk is greater than the benefit.

Every medical procedure has some risk, even the non-invasive ones. For example, you could drop dead during a stress test. Does that mean that you should never have a medical procedure of any kind? Only you can make that decision. Everything we do in life carries a certain amount of risk.

“They” certainly CAN tell you what flu strains are being vaccinated against, and they are different every year. Some years they are better at guessing which flu strains will be prevalent in that flu season than they are in other years. I have had flu vaccines some years and not other years. Never been hurt by one as far as I can tell.

I can’t disagree with you about experimenting with smallpox. There are two reasons to keep the smallpox in frozen storage:

                    1. Use it as a weapon.
                    2. Use it to develop more vaccine if an enemy uses it as a weapon.

As for guessing about which flu strains will be viable in the next season: Unless they are Carnack the Magnificent, there is no other alternative. The vaccine has to be developed ahead of the next season.

There is a middle ground and people need to make their own choices. The only things I am mad about aren’t really about the vaccine, whatever I think about it, they are about people’s actions.

I’m having major surgery on the 20th, and I always knew the risks. This time I know them even better. When I had my ankle surgery it left me with severe nerve pain. I still have to take Lyrica for it, although it isn’t severe. And the sole of my foot is numb and just does not feel right, like it has something stuck to it. Those issues may never clear up, I don’t know. I had no choice in having that surgery.

The one I’m having on the 20th is optional, knew replacement, and I’ll have the other one done in the fall, I hope. This time I know I might have even more problems and the broken ankle is weak and damaged permanently, which makes the recovery from the knee surgery harder.

I balanced the risks and rewards and made a choice. If I’d the experience jtr had, I’m quite sure that I would never get vaccinated again. But I wouldn’t oppose it either, as she didn’t in her comment. Each of us have personal factors driving our choices and we have a right to make them based on those factors, especially our health.

          • As long as a person has a choice, I don’t care whether you get a vaccine. I just hope people are fully informed and have a choice. It is not for me to decide for others, nor is it for others to decide for me.

I have read constantly about these vaccines since they came out, as well as talking to others who have had it. Some have been OK, some have had serious, and so far long lasting, medical reactions. For me I will not take it because it most likely will cause a reaction due to the overactive immune system I have which is a greater probability than the small % chance I will get* or even die from the virus. The CEO’s of both Moderna and Pfizer have said if you’re highly allergenic not to take it. My eye specialist commented that I could get the J&J vaccine, but I will not. I have a problem with the small amount of human fetal cells in the J&J vaccine. I have been sick for weeks from every vaccine I have received as an adult, and I do not remember the ones given as a child. I have not had a flu shot in 20 years probably, and have never had the flu. I did have almost 2 weeks of sickness after vaccines for it. My primary doc knows my decision, and does not push it as he obviously knows about my immune system.
*(I already do not go out many places due to multiple severe allergies and asthma).
Also in my state (NH) the virus has not been that much of a problem to those outside of nursing homes or in the only 2 or 3 “large” cities we have. Also, people don’t wear masks outside in NH, and if you have a medical condition you are exempt anyway so nobody can force you to wear a mask.

What worries me is how hospitals are refusing to let anyone but the patient inside. I am concerned eventually they won’t even let a patient in unless they have had a vaccine. I have thought a lot about this the past few weeks, and have decided still not to get the vaccine. I am teetering on the edge of having 2 full-blown autoimmune diseases, and I have thought a lot about which alternative would kill me and how. This is my choice.

BTW, I am one of those people driving around with a mask on in my car, and it has ZERO, NADA, NOTHING to do with any virus. I have used masks and eye protection for 20 years for pollen, allergies, and to reduce migraines. I also wear a mask because when selling me his car my brother had it detailed for me as a surprise, however I can’t get the chemical perfume smell out which gives me migraines and aggravates my asthma. My father was told to wear a mask when he went outside when he was undergoing chemotherapy. For many years in the past I have been laughed at and pointed at for wearing a mask. I guess nothing has changed. People have medical conditions strangers know nothing about. Perhaps it is best not to ridicule people when you don not know what medical conditions they have to endure.

I agree with everything you said in this comment, but I have one to make. It may seem a small point, but there is no fetal tissue in any of the vaccines. Some have used fetal cell lines to test the vaccines, but the vaccines themselves do not contain fetal tissue. The fetal cell lines are those from two abortions carried out more than 40 years ago, and not from any recent abortions, if that makes any difference to you.

              • Hi Stella 🙂
I was going by this article https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/another-covid-vaccine-using-aborted-baby-cell-line-pauses-trials-after-participants-unexplained-illness
                Part of which is:
Lifesite: “Further, this particular vaccine from J&J utilizes the human fetal cell line PER.C6 for its development. The PER.C6 fetal cell line was derived from retinal tissue taken from an 18-week-old baby boy who was aborted in the Netherlands in 1985 and was later converted into a fetal cell line in 1995.
Dr. Alex van der Eb, who developed the PER. C6 cell line, told FDA hearings in 2001 that the cell line was developed from retinal tissue from an 18 week old preborn baby.
“I isolated retina from a fetus, from a healthy fetus as far as could be seen, of 18 weeks old. There was nothing special with a family history or the pregnancy was completely normal up to the 18 weeks, and it turned out to be a socially indicated abortus – abortus provocatus, and that was simply because the woman wanted to get rid of the fetus…what was written down was unknown father, and that was, in fact, the reason why the abortion was requested.” ”

Please let me know if you found evidence this is incorrect. I’m sure many people find this to be an extremely important fact to get right. I trusted Lifesite’s direct quote from the hearings. Are they wrong?
                Thanks

If indeed they used a fetal cell line created in 1985 (and this article is not exactly clear whether it was used as part of the vaccine or for testing the virus) I can’t see that the cells themselves caused adverse reactions. After all, these same cell lines have been used for decades.

                  • Hi Stella,
To me it is my personal belief that it is wrong to use a vaccine that used aborted baby parts for the making or testing of the vaccine that stops me from getting them. It does not matter to me that it was 35 years ago the abortion took place. It is not that I would have a reaction to them because of the baby parts used. That never occurred to me. It does not matter that the baby would have died anyway in the abortion. I don’t believe murdered human babies should be used as… I don’t know how to describe it… inanimate chemicals or drugs. They are innocent humans created by the spark of God with a soul that deserve the respect of an innocent human. Up until these 3 vaccines, I had no idea aborted baby parts were used in the manufacture/testing of vaccines. And for those who may ask, yes, even if it was for a vaccine for black plague, if made from parts of aborted babies the answer would still be no. I do not have the best of health obviously and I’m in my 60’s so I know I’m not living forever. I will have to face God for judgement in what, the next 10 years sometime. I’m going to die at some point anyway, I might as well die for something really important that I believe in. My biggest fear is to not please God. I know others have different beliefs. This is my belief.

I’m just guessing, but if abortions were not available for use for this type of research and medical use, I think some other way would have been found. I often wonder for many uses why adult or placenta cells can’t be used. They have been very successful in many other medical treatments.

I would expect that hospitals have set their own policy for letting visitors in with patients. I make repeating trips to the hospital for followup care. Three weeks ago the waiting room was almost twice as crowded as was before. The hospital had changed policy and was allowing one person per patient to accompany them for their appointment. Most of the patients now had someone with them. A sure sign things are improving out there.

Mornin’ All. It was so foggy this morning. Loki and I took our walk. On the way back, I saw 5 little tiny ducklings swimming in a tight group trying to find their mother. I think they finally did, but she was about 50 feet ahead of them until they finally caught her. I don’t know if they will survive with her being so careless. I was talking to a friend out at the fence behind my apt yesterday evening when a cop walked by. He said there was no problem, but I doubted he would be there if there weren’t. Anyway, I ran into her this morning and she said the entrance to our apartment complex was barricaded by a whole bunch of cops at 4:30 this morning. Wonder what is going on. Whoever they were after evidently was in my building. Hopefully we will find out something later. Have a nice day and prepare for the snow. I understand it is coming again.
