Stellars, Happy Winter Landscapes….

Indian Neck Beach, MA…

It’s really neat if you come to the northeast in the winter and go to the beach to see the froth from the waves frozen on the sand. There was one particular beach on Cape Cod one very cold, snowy winter where I saw a lot of it. Not many people think to go to the beach in the winter, but it’s empty, peaceful, and pretty.

This is similar to what I saw only thicker near the water. It’s almost like lace further away from the water.

There are a lot of cool ice “sculptures” on the Great Lakes too.

Morning everyone. Flowers are peeping up in a few places. I look for them now as I ride along. Slow coming this year. Of course, I normally judge spring by the jonquils blooming all over the hillside, then the forsythia, at the cabin. That’s not my view anymore, so I’m operating without my best spring indicators.
Have a great Saturday! Headed off into the mountains soon, but this time we head toward the Cumberland Plateau, rather than the Smokies.

Good morning Menagerie! No flowers here yet…but my two maples have little tiny red buds on the tips of the branches and that makes me very happy! 🤗

Morning, Menagerie. My first sign of spring is the forsythia bush outside my dining room window, but that won’t be for a couple of weeks at least. Have a great day!

Flowers??? Probably not for another 3-4 weeks! 😦 That’s one of the few things I do not like about a cold climate.
I actually lived a bit south of here some years back and the snow went from end Sept or 1st week Oct to 3rd week of May. That was too much for me.

One pink azalea flower down at my house in NO. One daffodil in the planting area west of the house.

I just saw an almost hidden clump of daffodils on our street. The ones at church are still buds, but in a week they gone from three or four inches, I’d say, to almost full height.

Mornin’ Everyone. Sunny and really warm here this morning’. Yesterday I watched some of the speakers at CPAC. Some really good speakers. I noticed how well Don Jr. was received. I guess I need an intervention or something. I really like Ted Cruz, even though I know he can’t be trusted. Can’t wait until tomorrow to see our REAL President speak. Okay. I hope you all have a beautiful day.

I haven’t been able to watch so going to do clips today to catch up!

Well, to be honest, most of what I was was clips. I couldn’t just sit down and stare at the TV forever. 🙄

Mornin’ mom! Ted is a good speaker, and he isn’t all rotten anyway.

Good morning guys! Really late today…slept in…imagine that! Ha! Rain, rain, rain in the forecast for today and tomorrow (I hate when it rains on weekends LOL) but in the 60’s so I can handle that! My yard is calling me…needs some spring TLC ~ a couple more weeks and I should be able to get her done! 😁 Have a Blessed day! 🙏

Okay guys, like I said over at the Tree OT, this is public service announcement. You should try this recipe. Best apple anything I’ve made in a long, long time. This just leapfrogged way up the ladder on my list of breakfast favorites. And it is easy.
I used buttermilk instead of whole mile, and it took at least a cup, not a half cup. I also think 425 degrees was too hot, for my oven.

Thanks! Been looking for something to make with the apples I have. And I have a half-gallon of buttermilk, believe it or not.

Stella, I have some treasured apple recipes, tried and true. This beat danged near all of them. I can’t say enough good things about them. Best scones I’ve ever made, for sure.
I didn’t even have the best cooking apples either, I just used what I had here to snack on.

I will have to try them! So far, my favorite apple recipe is the Apple Coffee Cake with Crumble Topping and Brown Sugar Glaze:

I like Apple Crisp too. It’s easy and fast to make.

Looks so good. I saved that recipe too. Thanks!

They call it a coffee cake, but it’s really just a yummy dessert. Every element is made with brown sugar.

Those sound really good……….but……I’m gonna call your scones, and raise you a pizza for breakfast! There’s some older adults who owe me an apology over this one! 😉

When I worked third shift I loved leftover pizza for breakfast. I’m going to agree on this one because I don’t think most cereal is healthy at all. I don’t believe those scones were either! Especially since I ate two and a half of them.

Good for them though – I wonder how much they sell – probably a lot!

I would check this. Normally, Medicare does not pay for nursing home care. Skilled nursing facility, but not a regular nursing home. Medicaid does pay for it. Likely they got paid twice what they were getting pre-corona.

I was going to use a couple of Mucha’s winter paintings today, but they looked just too darn cold, so instead i have this lady who is a lot more colorful, and happy as well!
Have a great day everyone! 😉

Sounds like O’bama and ValJarr are going to have to put in a lot more time to keep this thing going before all H*ll breaks loose, and WWIII breaks out. He’s not used to having to work this hard.

Menage……..the thing is that they don’t want any press there anyway. This is just pushing the little guys out who actually ask some real questions. It’s a chicken-sh*t move however.
