On January 2nd, Secretary of Defense, Christopher Miller confirms with the US Capitol Police that there is no request at the Capitol for Department of Defense support.
On January 4th, Secretary of the Army holds a phone call with Steven Sund and Sund confirms, there is NO NEED for Department of Defense National Guardsmen.
Now at this late date comes Steven Sund’s letter detailing information that on January 4th, he had approached Paul Irving, the House Sargent at Arms, to request the National Guard and Paul Irving had stated that he was concerned about the “Optics” of National Guard and the intelligence didn’t support the need for the National Guard.
However, on January 10, Sund interviewed with the Washington Post and during that interview he attempted to place blame on the lack of National Guard in the lap of Lt General Walter Piat. Sund declared that the Pentagon didn’t send the National Guard because it would be bad optics and Sund claimed Piatt said ‘I don’t like the visual of National Guard standing a police line at the Capitol”…However, in the interview Sund never mentions that he had heard the same words coming from Paul Singer on January 4th.

One question – who is the auburn-haired guy between Sandy Cortez and budding scriptwriter Whatsizface?
Have you read the letter posted online by the Former Chief of Police Capitol Police Steven A Sund
Play by Play of what took place January 6
Just a few talking points
1000s arrived in riot gear, pepper spray, bear spray, weapons, ear pieces etc attacking the Capitol Police which were not equipped for this
They were not MAGA people
Mr Sund immediately called for help
Department of Defense took 3 hours to approve an urgent request for National Guard support
