Now wouldn’t that be a hoot?

Mornin’ all. Beautiful, cold day here. 48* and sunny. Unfortunately, my friend is going to spend this next week at the beach with another friend. Luckily, the hotel has an indoor pool since they both want to swim. We are at the end of another crazy week. Wonder what is ahead of us?

Mornin’ mom! More cold here. No sun this morning, and another inch of snow forecast for tonight.

Morning Mom 🙂
Right now I’m thinking of that verse from the bible that says (paraphrasing) don’t borrow trouble from tomorrow, cause – yup – I got enough today!
LikeLiked by 3 people
Matthew 6:34 is part of Jesus’s Sermon On the Mount…“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Let the day’s own trouble be sufficient for the day.” (RSVCE)
It’s important to realize He’s speaking of the kind of worry where possibilities magnify themselves. There’s nothing wrong, of course, about contingency planning. But once plans are in place, they are not to be worried about because worrying is useless and destructive. It multiplies itself until a great big pile is facing a person. Jesus is saying that we need to let it go.
Not easy, of course, but that’s precisely the reason God wants us to pray about our troubles…Philippians 4:6-7….
“Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Thank you Lucille 🙂 You post the most beautiful comments, and we all need beauty – visual, literary and especially spiritual. {{{hugs}}}

YW, G&C! Philippians 4:6 was my mother’s favorite Bible verse and she quoted it often. I may have mentioned–at the time Menagerie said she was planning to read/study the entire Bible during 2021–that Mom read the Bible through every year for 20 years prior to her losing her eyesight five years before she died in 2006 at almost 91. Reading the Bible and praying were always joys for her.

Good morning, aus! We’re at 37 degrees with a day which is supposed to be sunny + cloudy; so far, only cloudy. But it’s better than being nearly snowed in….

That made me chuckle. You nailed my husband’s height but he’s currently out of the country on business.
We have a tractor I can probably finagle into use if I need it. Our drive is too long for snow blowing. Our weather warms up enough that I think it won’t last too long.
I stocked up so the four-loggers and I are good to go for well over a week.

Thanks for posting this artwork. I’ve always loved it and used to haunt a gallery which was selling an excellent copy from the first printing in the 1890s. In my opinion the proprietor wanted too much for an unframed copy; so I dithered around for a couple of weeks and finally went back to discover he’d already sold it. C’est la vie!

Yes, he’s right! There is video of a Trump supporter begging the Capitol Police to do something rather than standing around dressed in riot gear and doing nothing. The police just looked at the guy and kept on being negligent.
I read an article which made excuses for the police since they were outnumbered. And whose fault is it that they were outnumbered? Their budget is humongous but I guess it’s really just a hand-out to fellow lefties who aren’t interested in doing a job for the nation.

I saw that video this morning on Twitter.
Re being outnumbered, they were offered help by the military but turned it down.

Ya know, I’ve been pondering this hyperbolic narrative the left has been pushing.
For years I’ve wondered what happened to the phrase, “sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never hurt me”. We’ve become unmoored from the basic reality that physical harm happens when weapons are involved. We’ve created generations that think words are as harmful as weapons.
Obama famously said, “Words matter”. Of course they do but they do not harm you like a weapon does.
No wonder there is a full assault on our freedom of speech. The fools can’t tell the difference (or choose not to) between words and weapons. It’s only used by the left to shut down the liberties that threaten lefties power. It’s politically expedient to equate weapons and words.
It is stunning how quickly we are devolving from the origin of our country.
If, and that is a big if, we finally have legislators that will take on Big Tech it will be a start.
The mess with the hedge funds is hugely illustrative of another rigged set up.
Then there’s the inJustice Dept., FIB and CYA.
And I sure as heck hope someone is keeping an eye on Bill Gates and the amount of farm land he’s scooping up in our country.

Not the first time this has happened. And anybody who lives in an active earthquake zone probably isn’t fazed by rain.

I remember praying that the rain would stop. The earthquakes didn’t bother me so much. The ground is very hard and it takes a while for the rain to soak in.

Californians drive poorly in the rain and most other times as well. Tailgating and rain make a poor combination and no matter the time of day or weather conditions, tailgating is rampant. Rain in California is of concern when there have been the number of fires as the state has been dealing with over the last few years. Erosion becomes the concern.
Lordy, I love being in the Midwest.
About the worst I saw it raining was a night I was west bound on the Bay Bridge and it got shut down after me. I was driving through probably 4-6″ of water in pouring rain and only two other cars were within eyesight. Quite a night and not too many months later the earthquake happened that dropped one of the sections on that bridge.
That was the old bridge, not sure how the new Bay Bridge handles torrential downpours or major earthquakes, for that matter.

Jordanian Publication Al Bawaba: ‘Is ISIS Being Empowered by The Biden Administration?’
January 26, 2021 2:00 PM By ROBERT SPENCER
And the answer is: of course it is. Remember: under the Obama administration, ISIS established a caliphate in Iraq and Syria that was larger than Britain, and on January 20, 2017, looked as if it was here to stay. Now ISIS knows it is the time to strike again.
