The greatest document ever written, yet it seems as though it is becoming nothing much more than an historical relic. To be looked at about the same way we look at monkey’s in the zoo. I wish I was more optimistic.

Mornin’ everyone. It is very cold here again, 53*. I talked to my DIL yesterday and they had had more snow, but it was over 35* and the snow was a shlushy mess. That is a problem when you have four big dogs and three young children. LOL Keep warm up there in the far North. 🙂

Czar died last night. He had barely eaten anything for 6 weeks, complaining food wouldn’t go down and he was revolted by food. He lost 30 pounds in 4 weeks around Thanksgiving, and spent most of his days drifting into naps in front of the TV. He refused to see a doctor about the swallowing problem. We finally got him to go to a doctor, who put him in the hospital 12/29. The next day the GI MD found an esophageal cancer with metastases to his liver. The oncologist gave him maybe a month, and said he was too malnourished to treat with chemotherapy. He tested positive for COVID last Thursday.
He lived the life he wanted, and did what he thought was important. He was funny, snarky, very intelligent and well read. He had great grammar. He knew a lot about a lot. Family was important to him. His country, Christianity & military service were important to him. He believed in following laws, rules and regulations. We had a great 40 years together. I miss him so much.

Oh, Czarinma. I am so sorry. If this is all spelled wrong, I is because I Ana’t see the keyboard. I have missed his comments and was looking forward to seeing them again. I am sure God has welcomed him into Heaven with open arms.

Dear czarina, it is a blessing to find such a man and spend 40 years of your life with him. I envy your good fortune, but I know that losing him is devastating. If there is anything I can do, please let me know.

We, on a much smaller scale, have been blessed to share a tiny bit of him with you. He has been missed these past weeks, and will continue to be missed. He had a keen insight, based on experience, that was rare and appreciated. I hate that we won’t be hearing from him again.

I wish I could hug you.

Oh my. I’m so sorry to hear this. There are no real words of comfort that I can share to give you peace, but know that we are holding all of your family in our thoughts and prayers. What a wonderful man, even though I only knew y’all through the internet.

Oh czarina, I am devastated by this news. I want to stand at the edge of the cliff and shout NONONONONO!!! into the abyss. How can this be, it is not time, it is too early, just please Lord, no… I can’t even imagine the devastation you must be feeling. He is one of the smartest and funniest men I ever encountered. His amazing skill at punning with Menagerie is something I’ll never forget. With arms wrapped around you from afar, I send love, hugs, and prayers for you both, and for your family.

      Dearest Czarina:

I’m heartbroken for you and your family. Such a wonderful man…smart, funny, knowledgeable and full of character.

Though most of us Stellars (if not all) did not know him personally, we knew him through his wonderful posts. I’m sure I speak for everyone in saying we’ll miss him terribly.

You will continue to be in my prayers. May God comfort you and bring you peace.

      Love and hugs from Lucille.

    • Oh my dear Czarina, both DH and I are so sorry for your and your entire family’s loss. Both I and others I showed his comments to loved to read them. We also laughed about you two commenting back and forth to each other online here. Czar was an amazing man as you and others here have said, but never forget you are a very capable, amazing woman yourself. We are all here for you as you travel this new road.
May eternal light shine upon him.
You and especially the little tykes were so blessed to all have that time together.

May God keep you all in the palm of His hand, now and forever. Amen

Dear czarina…. I can only offer my most loving condolences and gratitude for having gotten to know and enjoy several meaningful conversations with the Czar. He expressed such a vast array of knowledge and experience. Yet, he would kindly enlighten and share
his knowledge with others with such kindness and humility.

Please accept all the love and respect I can offer….

czarina – read this early this morning. Words failed.
      Deepest, deepest sympathies.
We are so much the better for having known czar, and especially the two of you through each other’s eyes, and are so much the lesser for czar’s absence from our lives now.

czar always replied, and one waited in gleeful anticipation to see if one would learn something new and valuable or enjoy a good laugh.
Please let the gs/ggs know how very important GPa czar was to so many who knew him who never knew him, and the impact GPa czar had on so many lives.

Prayers for the comfort you will find in the warmth of the cradle of Our Lord’s Arms.

Oh, Czarina – what a shocking series of happenings for you, and with your own medical knowledge there has been a painfully sharpened awareness of the things you have been seeing in your beloved companion.

I know you only from a distance and have a little understanding. My heart aches for you and your family, including Czar’s beloved gs/ggs.

He will be deeply missed by so many. I remember some years back when, in awe of his knowledge, his experience, and his willingness to talk about it–I shyly raised my hand from the back of the classroom (in the other schoolroom) and asked some questions. I think, among all the other hats he worse, he was born to teaching.

    Czarina,
    .
Czar was one-of-a-marvelous kind. His understanding of government and human nature, his intelligence and wit made his posts unique and well worth reading.
    .
We have missed his presence here. I pray for your comfort, and loving memories of all the time you had together. Even though they may seem hard to bear right now.
    .
I am glad he was able to live the life he wanted, after so many years of service.
    .
May he truly rest in peace, until that Great Reveille. (1 Corinthians 15:52-58)

In light of Czarina’s sad news today, I won’t post the long, semi-funny story of the last six days here in the Idaho Panhandle…except to say we were without electricity for a short time Wednesday but totally without phone or Internet service since 7:20 AM the 13th. Those two items were restored a few hours ago today. The folks who live in the grid next to ours still have no electricity. High winds are the culprit.

Good to be back among friends, especially to comfort one another in times of sorrow.

    God bless!

“I’ll Be Seeing You” by pianist Newell Oler

    I’ll be seeing you
In all the old familiar places
That this heart of mine embraces
    All day through
    In that small cafe
    The park across the way
    The children’s carousel
    The chestnut trees
    The wishing well
    I’ll be seeing you
    In every lovely summer’s day
In everything that’s light and gay
I’ll always think of you that way
    I’ll find you
    In the morning sun
And when the night is new
I’ll be looking at the moon
    But I’ll be seeing you.

Just know, I loved that guy of yours.

Had many great conversations with him about our old stomping ground, New Orleans.

    I will sorely miss him.

He was my #1 main NOLA person.

I pray for God to comfort you.

    Please…

    Remain strong.

Your voice is still needed here.

Bless you, and may you hold your head and heart up to the Lord our God Who will be close to you!

Angelle…in prayer for you and yours.
