Amazon is booting Parler off their web hosting service

They have until tomorrow, at midnight PST. If they don’t find another host, Parler will go dark, and probably for a week or more. They can’t move to a new host as quickly as would be needed to avoid interruption of service.

Here is the statement from the Parler CEO:

I agree that this appears to be a coordinated attempt to shut down free speech. I wonder if at least some of our do-nothing Congressmen and Senators are now regretting failing to act. Unfortunately, it is now too late.

I don’t know about everyone else. but I suggest exchanging email accounts with others. Why, if our means of communications occur at sites/groups, like Stella, if her site goes, we have no way of contacting anyone else. I have suggested this before in other groups. Then it was to maintain contact if we were kicked off the site. Now, it is because the site is kicked off.

I think this has to do with somebody having some information that Nanci and company are afraid is coming out now. They all seem to be hysterical.

I do believe we were forewarned on this coming … it is of no surprise to anyone that Conservative voices would be shut down

I just don’t understand why Parler didn’t move away from Amazon sooner

It’s a good thing that Gab did. They are working like crazy to increase their server capacity, I hear, but they have physical servers that they own.

Next “smart” move would be for all Conservatives to stop shopping Amazon

Why would you give money to a company that hates you and will use your money against you

I can proudly say I don’t shop Amazon never have never will

I truly do shop mom & pop whether it be downtown or local in my state online

I do use Amazon. I am an older person who currently doesn’t have a car. I have everything delivered. My groceries come from a local store, but I do use Amazon for some things. I will try to find alternate sources.

It is hard Stella! We live in a very small town that has nothing left of individual businesses…WalMart, and the big box stores are all that’s left after they ran small businesses out of town. We shop Amazon only when absolutely necessary when there are no other options, but I think the time is coming when we may just do without. That’s a hard thought process and we’ve discussed how the big corps have us between a rock and a hard place, by design.

I was going to deactivate my Twitter account (already did Facebook), but I think I’ll wait a week or so until things quiet down. I plan to ditch my Amazon Prime too (which I hate to do.)

Yeah, I hate to lose my Amazon Prime. Because my only family lives away from me. And, I have discovered that mailing presents at the Post Office costs more than I can afford because it makes whatever I send cost double. And, wouldn’t you know, I don’t care about Facebook usually, but since I found out about my newest found member of the family, I hate to cancel it right now. But, soon. Definitely soon.

There is a compromise solution for Amazon. Cancel your Prime account. You can still order from them when necessary, but you will have to pay shipping, and you won’t have the other goodies, like free movies etc.

I just deleted my Facebook account, but they don’t permanently delete it for 30 days.
