        Before Utah was bought out by California, yeah that far back, we had these 100+ year old houses and farms that would stand out in the winter snowfalls. We had old farms to the west of our (then) smallish city that looked like Currier & Ives prints – now it’s grown thousands of new houses and looks like most other places.

          As a kid I remember visiting my father’s uncle in the countryside around Phoenix. They lived on a horse ranch in a turn-of-the-century rambling house with big porches and you had to drive a while to get to downtown. The ranch is long-since sold and the city overtook the area in the 1980s and has spread to all the little towns which once looked like our uncle’s property.

          Times were soooo much better then and I don’t think that’s just old-age nostalgia talking.

            Yeah, back when families sat down to dinner together, and actually talked to each other without small screens involved. I miss those times.

            Oh Lord yes. In our little town in Utah we really didn’t lock our doors a lot of the time and in the summer we’d leave our windows open while we slept.

            It was in the early 70s and a high school student was working at a 24/7 ‘stop and rob. He had the predawn until about 8ish shift to earn a bit of extra money, no parents in town worried about their kids working those graveyard shifts, it was safe, nothing ever happened there.

            Just after dawn one day, in walks some California vagrant/drifter (town was just off the I-15) and tries to rob it using a knife, cutting the kid to pieces in the process. The kid lived but was a mess and they caught the perp. I’m sure the perp fell down a number of stairs on his way to county but regardless the city was never its old self again.

      Oh I can think of worse names but I go back to my decades-old post/position that the Chinese early on, well before they had anywhere near this level of world influence, we co-opting top echelon US politicians. Without getting into specifics, which have changed over the years, there were WAY too many major intel leaks. Some of these major leaks read like a James Bond novel and had to have an ‘inside’ point…damn near every facet of the US defense and energy industry was compromised yet only sporadic attempts were made to clean it up. That screams ‘POLITICAL’.

        I was mistaken. There are still only 17 states. What this means is that these particular states are joining the original suit, not just filing as amici.

        I think another state may have joined since then.

    Here are some of the highlights from today’s video:
    Max Harris, Ossoff deputy political director: “I can’t say that here today [pack the Supreme Court], but…Well, it’s not the official – the official position of the party right now is not ‘aggressively pack the court.’ It’s ‘we’re waiting and seeing how the nomination process goes’ and then we’ll go from there.”
    Harris: “I think that privately, a lot of people [in the campaign] share that [packing the Supreme Court] feeling.”

    I see that my state is one of the cowardly ones not supporting Texas or President Trump…our RINO governor and legislature are useless….
