Oh yeah, and they’s wicked smart too. Right up to the end Daisy spent her time letting us know that she could outthink us any time she wanted to.

I’m so sorry, Czar. I still mourn for our last one 10 years ago. It took me a few years to sort out my feelings before I found a Border Collie rescue nearby. Pheonix Rising. Their Website is awesome. I found Isla at 6 weeks old. She and her two brothers were found with Mama in the woods in NC. Out of the three, I picked her. They have a way of looking at you, and know exactly what you are thinking. Spooky!

Thing is that the next oldest dog is so light we forget her age and she’s nearly as old as Daisy was. The new GS seems to have perked her up though.

My gal is 14, she used to be pure blue (black) now she is mostly white in the face, deaf and sleeps so deeply that if I pick her up sometimes her head just bobs to the side 😦 . Plus her trachea is giving her problems (Common in Italian Greyhounds), they are not good candidates for sedation even when they are young and healthy the vet says not to put her through anything at this age as her quality of life is still very good.
She is still full of energy 🙂 .

BD, the golden lab/hound/? mix is about as old as Daisy was – we got Daisy at Easter and BD in October of ’08. BD’s slowed down a bit but she’s still up ‘n at ’em and plays with both the GGS and new GS. As she’s mostly white the ‘age white’ doesn’t show so she doesn’t look as old as she is.

My dog who passed about a year and a half ago was mostly white with some fawn, so you couldn’t see her turning white. Miss her….

She had about 13 years with us and got to meet and greet all of the grand and great grandkids so she lived out her shepherd dreams.

Two year old GS’s been here a week and the dogs already have him trained. He’s putting his plate on the floor, getting down on all fours and eating off of the plate while the dogs watch. Wondering if I should get a fireplug to help the kid’s housebreaking?

They’re our ‘inside’ kids and he seems to be following their leads. Maybe we can talk the cats into box-training him.
