  1. OK kids, everyone talks about getting out the popcorn for this debate so here is a recipe for popcorn you may be interested in. I have not tried it yet, but sounds really good!:
    Maple Bacon Bourbon Popcorn

Yield: 6 cups Sweet maple syrup, crispy bacon and good bourbon combine with popcorn for a sweet and salty snack!
1 Tbs. oil (I use grapeseed) [G&C: use bacon fat!]
    1/3 cup popcorn kernels
1/2 cup chopped crispy bacon (5-6 strips)
    1/2 cup pure maple syrup
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter
    2 Tbs. Bourbon
    1 tsp. sea salt
Heat one tablespoon of grapeseed oil [bacon fat] in a heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat. Add a few popcorn kernels to the pan, cover and let it heat up. When one kernel pops, add 1/3 cup of uncooked popcorn kernels and cover the pan. Shake the pan a little to spread the kernels in an even layer. Let the kernels pop for several minutes until the pan is full and the popping slows down. Remove from heat and transfer popcorn to a large bowl.
Heat the oven to 250 degrees. Spray a 10×15 baking sheet with non-stick spray or line with parchment paper. When the popcorn is popped, spread into a single layer on the baking sheet. Disperse the chopped bacon on top of the popcorn. Set aside.
In a heavy bottom sauce pot over medium-low heat, melt the syrup and butter together. Bring to a simmer, and continue to cook for 2-3 minutes, then remove from heat and stir in the Bourbon and sea salt. Pour over the popcorn/bacon mixture and stir to evenly distribute the syrup mixture.
Bake in a 250 degree oven for 35-40 minutes, stirring frequently, until very fragrant and the syrup has started to harden. Remove from the oven and immediately toss. Transfer to a parchment-lined platter and break up any large pieces.

Did you know they make bacon bourbon???

Any ideas of drinks to be made from it, and what is the drinking game during the debate tonight? I’m going for the bacon bourbon milkshakes posted a few days ago. 😉

I had to make a wine run because I didn’t have enough for the whole debate. So, all I have to do now is pop the corn. 🙂 I am a popcorn purist………….only butter and salt on mine. 🙄

Ever wonder where such vaunted places like the Cleveland Clinic and Case Western Reserve are located?
One’s first thought might logically be someplace nestled lovingly among the manicured lawns of the rich-enough-to-be-unknown.
    This is Cleveland, folks

  6. Thank you for the positive responses to my fun comment. This ability to have a positive outlook even in tough times shows a difference between their side and ours. Our lives have not necessarily been any better or easier than theirs, but they find even imaginary problems and injuries. Then they just complain and scream about these microaggressions, demanding we pay attention to them, placate them, and basically pay them off for things we never did! This is the height of narcissism and laziness. We have mostly worked hard and gone without for what we have and are GRATEFUL for what we have, and for what GOD has done for us. They are truly “spoiled rotten” and prideful. It is often said you will see murderers and prostitutes in Heaven, but never pride. I wonder how many of them since they do not give thanks to God even think of Him. They continue to search for complaints to demand the attention of others to trying to fill the hole in their heart that can only be filled by God.

DJT needs to take a breath. He’s too wound up and stomping all over Wallace. Not a good look so far.

Good grief, I’m dying here. I say Joe and “I’m the moderator here!” both melt down before this is over.

“An Executive Order has no power.”
    Oh really, Joe?
There was this President guy who wrote an Executive Order about some DACA kids…

Now Beijing Biden tells the President of the United States to shut up?

  13. I have the sound off, partly because DH doesn’t want to watch at all, but also because I could not stand to listen to Wallace even more than Biden. It’s nice to get info purely from body language and facial expressions.

  14. Biden is blinking very often and quickly, and looking upwards, not at Wallace, Trump or the camera. It’s like he’s trying really hard to remember what he’s supposed to say.

I’m having a real problem here, listening to Bidens non-stop lies and name-calling.
“This guy” “This clown” Constant interrupting, especially after hearing Biden lecture on “civility.”
Just praying for the end to come soon.

  16. Biden looks at notes at his lectern a lot. Only sentence I listened to from Wallace b4 muting sound was that nobody had the questions ahead of time – Ya Right!
    Next door comment:
“Niagara Frontier says: September 29, 2020 at 10:06 pm
Keep an eye on how quickly a Biden handler gets to the lectern to gather up the notes.”
    Good Point!

Can tell even with mute, Biden’s losing his temper now, Hope Trump keeps his.

  17. Me: Why is Wallace arguing with Trump?
DH: Because Biden isn’t capable of it!

How terrible, Wallace is basically doing Biden’s job in the “debate”. I wonder how many of the 10% undecided see that.

Playing around with conspiracy theories is great fun, but believing them is not within my abilities, especially when they are so easily disproved.
But i’m really beginning to believe Obama, Xi, and their buddies set up this CCP China Virus purposefully, to bring Pres Trump down.

And Beijing Biden’s lies are just too much for me now. Beijing Biden says we never had hurricanes, fires, etc. before Pres Trump became President.
How has Beijing Biden’s wife not canned this guy years ago?
