Ahhhh…Penny Lane. I was in Vietnam when it was released and our AFN just wouldn’t play a lot of pop. It was early ’68 before I heard it and, having Brit nana and uncle, I caught the naught bit in it right off.
Notice how much of the Beatles, like Monty Python, stuff wanders off to putting urban settings in a rural area. That urban Brit fascination with grass and trees and having a lawn, something that’s carried over to us.

Love the bit of good news from the Alternative Learning Center (ALC) in Dubuque, Iowa. Receiving PE credits for helping seniors or those with disabilities with yard work and household errands like taking out the trash is something all high schools should do. It sure would be a great help to me to have assistance with odd jobs.
Right now I have to take out a bunch of trash and I’m not looking forward to it. LOL!
