Good morning, lovely! The vinyl flower is definitely a work of art. Beautifully done.

Lucille, this chap makes these flowers out of vinyl framing each individual petal !
I thought it was a real flower at first. The flowers are about 11 inches wide!
Each bloom is made using several records(4-6 ea) and each bloom celebrates a memory with a center label on back. A concert for the eyes Handmade dinner plate dahlias.

Looks like you’ll be on the west side so it won’t be as bad; we’ll be on the east so we’ll get WET.
We have about 380 gallons of propane so that should last about 5 days running 24/7 if the power goes out.

Gassed up the vehiculars today, good on water – it really shouldn’t affect us at all, other than rain.

By the time it gets to you that’s what it should be. I’ll get gas, diesel for the tractor, got food and we got beer/booze so bring it on. We should get some tropical winds but we’re about 70 miles north of NOLA so there’s a lot of dirt for them to eat and that brings their winds down.

Also we are 125 ‘ above sea level, but on the downslope of a hill. No worry about rising water, but if needed we can open the doors and let the water flow thru the house(!).

There is an 90 minute show on Boston Catholic TV right now which might be one of the videos on youtube as well. It is Fulton Sheen speaking about Quo Vadis America? What is the American revolution going on now? (this was in maybe 1960’s or 70’s) It is listed as “A Man for All Seasons ~ Summer” AB Sheen is talking about government & where is America going. He spoke out often against communism, and was very well educated and articulate. He had a great way of explaining big complex issues in understandable ways. Now he is speaking of those who believe only way to save yourself is by violence – who does that remind you of? Also minority of elitists using violence to force it’s will on all of us.
It is amazing how we we so quickly went from him having the biggest show on TV to crazy “liberal” hippies in a couple of years. Even if you are not Catholic, please listen to him. He was a great anti-communist patriot.

We used to watch Fulton Sheen every Sunday night, right after Billy Graham.
That was on tv. Now Bishop Sheen is on youtube, taped somehow from his old tv show – have d/l-ed 3 so far, all on communism.
Never appreciated Fulton Sheen as a child, but he is invaluable now.

I am already well stocked to the point where I will not have to leave my home for two weeks, if that becomes prudent. Even if utilities are shut down or destroyed. I need to discuss with my son which state or county roads to take headed east if it becomes necessary to escape Oregon entirely. Kate Brown (gov) was talking yesterday about beginning to restrict travel……in the same press conference in which she was revealing the new, very very low Covid 19 numbers. She also announced new pressure on all LEOs that “they are RESPONSIBLE” to enforce mandates (or, as she called it, “the law”) even in rural counties. And the $500 fine per individual is now on the table. (Even as she spouts that “we prefer to educate” – yeah, right, Kate)
I don’t where the money is coming from but the direct responsibility for all of this lies at the doorstep of those who are currently in positions of civil authority. Of course, since our institutions are completely rotted, there’s no way to stop it.

I’m so glad to have left Los Angeles County when I did. Such a major move would be extremely difficult physically for me now…it was bad enough in 2008. I feel for those caught in a revolution like the one in Portland. When the elected government itself is Leftist, no neighborhood is safe from the mentally deranged Left street gangs.
