This Is A Great Opportunity To Destroy Academia
Kurt Schlichter – July 9, 2020
Never let a good crisis go to waste, which in the current crisis means we must use the fact that our universities have shown themselves to be petri dishes swimming with anti-American ideologies, combined with pre-existing trends, to lance this particular cultural boil.
Let’s be clear: Academia today is a pack of rabid reds, and we need to put it down like Old Yeller. And academia itself has loaded up the 12 gauge.

I agree with this. The indoctrination needs to come to a halt. But, since it starts in preschool, we need to look at the whole system. This pandemic FROM CHINA has clued in a lot of parents to what their children are learning in school at all levels. It appears there may be a surge in home schooling.

That, or a switch to parochial schools. Mine went to Baptist school for her first seven years.

One might argue, academia is doing such a good job of destroying itself, why get in their way? Move down to pre-school and move up, and as our new eloquent Minnesota philosopher said recently, tear it out by its roots.

Good afternoon, WeeWeed! I had to drop everything and send the commentary off to my email list. Brought me to tears. Thanks so much!

I was in Nashville in mid-68 to early ’69 and spent a lot of time in the clubs. Might have seen Charlie but there’s no way to tell.

We were there in the mid ’70’s to ’80 – saw Reba at Runway 22 when she was coming up playing with one of the Kershaw brothers. Charlie was already huge when we were there.

We rode shotgun for an Oprey touring company in Vietnam and one of the members, Elmer Fudpucker, invited us up for drinks in Tootsies. We had a great time, too bad they closed the base there.

I’se only in Tootsies once – it was pretty nasty but a LOT of history there. Still there?

Oh yeah, it’s a fixture, right across from Ernie Tubbs record shop. There were some stairs going up to the 2nd floor on the raf right side of the bar when you faced the bar. Some of the Oprey folks would go up there to drink and avoid the crowds.

So, how tall was Jim Ed Brown??? Saw a video today with him and George Jones (my favorite, He Stopped Loving Her Today) and George looked about as tall as a middle schooler. Wiki says he was 5’7″ so I figure he was shorter than that (because his guitar looks oversized as well.) And as ya’s get older ya shrink.

Mornin’ Lucille, Wee, and everyone. Weather………….hot and humid……very humid.
Put Loki in her booster seat in the car to drive up to the office yesterday afternoon. She has already quit fighting it and whimpering. LOL She is very flexible. She also discovered that she can see out the sliding glass doors and watch squirrels, lizards, and people go by. She seems quite content. Oh, and she wasn’t eating at the shelter, but she gobbles up everything I put down. She will put on some weight pretty quickly here. She is very bony now and underweight. 🙂

Smart girl! Like our BD, loves to look outside through the glass doors. Unlike our BD, who gets carsick and throws up on the seat when we take her anywhere. Seems you two are settling together well.

Yes, I don’t think she has a problem with carsickness, thank goodness. I have had dogs in the past that got carsick and that was awful.

Good day to you, aus! It’s a bright sunshiny day but only 75 degrees, heading to 78 in the Idaho Panhandle.
Loki is such a good girl and knows you are her Mom now. Jack Russells are smart as a whip. She’s decided you know best. Yes, she’ll fatten up with love.
You’ll have to see how she does at the beach…

So she’ll bounce like a beach ball?

LOL! Throw that ball…

LOL I don’t know what kind of toys she would like, so I bought a little ball, just to see what she would do with it. I threw it and she ran after it, stopped it, then looked back at me as if to say “I’ve got it. It’s right here.” I guess “fetch” is not one of her games.

I meant to put this in this morning but oh well here it is now:
“Pere Borrell del Caso (1835 -1910) was a Spanish painter, illustrator and engraver, known for his trompe l’oeil paintings.
He also painted portraits, which made up the bulk of his work, and created religious murals in the Nazarene style in Barcelona, Girona and Castellar del Vallès. These, however, WERE ALL DESTROYED DURING THE SPANISH CIVIL WAR.
He exhibited throughout Spain and at the Exposition Universelle (1878). He was twice offered a professorship at the Escola de la Llotja, but preferred to teach at his own private art school”. ~ from wikipedia
Gee, religious murals and portraits of important people being destroyed in a revolution – sound familiar?

Good afternoon, GandC! What a beautifully rendered painting and cleverly titled. A master realist.
Have a peaceful and pleasant rest of your day…hopefully in a garden….

Been walkin’ on the wild side net door, thought I’d post a bit of my reality to bump up against the folks over there that think a Trump win is a foregone conclusion, that our only concern is how many bottles of champagne to drink on election nite. Just a few responses, disappointing in their lack of real heat.

2CELLOS – (Stjepan Hauser and Luka Sulic) Bach “Double Violin Concerto in D minor – 2nd movement” – Live in Zagreb, Croatia, December 2012
This Croatian duo is in hiatus right now and performing solo, though they will reunite in 2021 for a series of 10th year anniversary performances. Hauser, the man on the left has a tremendous following. Sulic is married now with two children and making videos from home during the lockdown. They both seem like such sweethearts in interviews. Quite different personalities. They competed against each other in their amateur days…as I recall, Sulic won most of the contests; but I think they are equally wonderful musicians.

The mayor is obviously encouraging the terrorists to break into the Trump Tower and damage the structure along with all the other businesses in the area.
