You have to have worked the border to really appreciate the ****hole it is. This isn’t new, it goes back nearly 200 years, from the time when we fought with Mexico over our Southern border.
We used to run into oldtimers who’d worked the border with the BP in the 30s and they’d tell us about gunbattles they’d had with freewheeling Mexican and US bad guys. When I was working it post-911 we were told not only to watch out for bag guys on the US side but received specific classes on how to deal with Mexican police or military found on our side…miles inside of our side. Now, where are those hongry gators?
Would that it could have been a wide and deep moat chock full of hungry crocs.
