Both of us having a Florida background it’s sort of surprising that in the 40 years we’ve been here the beaches, like the offshore fishing, is something we’ve never done. When you get right down to it we don’t do much.

I’ve not fished from a boat either! Grew up in Jax, lived in Orlando before Disney tore out all of the orange orchards.
But as an adult, I’m an avid trout stream fishing enthusiast. We have some really wonderful streams here, my fave being Panther’s Creek, and Boggs Creek. Both within a few miles of us.
I love beaches, but I’m too fair to spend much time on them. I remember being hospitalized at 8 years old with sunburn! Ouch!

We went to the Miami beaches every day, M-F every summer. We always started out with the horrible sunburn, peel, start over, but we were soon browned. Now, I have to have a skin survey every year to check for melanoma. I like beaches in the dusk to dark period now.

When I was young in the military I had a sunburn on my lower legs/knees so bad that I was excused from duty for a week, my knees were swollen so badly that I couldn’t bend them to walk.
Louisiana put in for Disney World on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain but Disney chose Orlando instead, rumor was that between the crooked pols at the state and local levels he sorta felt dirty dealing with them.
Other rumor was that a bunch of the land Walt wanted had LDS Church orange groves on it and the Church didn’t want to sell. As the LDS own that huge cattle ranch outside of Orlando rumor was that the state legislature did some minor tweaks to the law to force the Church to sell. Then again I heard that while I lived in northern Utah.
I used to fly into McCoy there in Orlando a lot, used to be a big nuke-armed B-52 base. Orlando was a nice little town then.

I so long to stay a few days at the beach! It’s not that far away, but seeing as I’d have to go somewhere on the Washington coast and run into the Antifa crowd, I think it’ll have to wait.

Agreed, of course the group of Bikers headed to Seattle on the 4th of July may have different ideas. I’m guessing the knot heads will be out of there before the 4th but who knows?

Nice. My mum always had African Violets on a shelf with a special light. She has always been able to grow anything, I on the other hand have a black thumb. My niece is great with plants indoor and out…

The Microsoft team is, to me, nothing more than a bunch of nerds who, had they not had the luck of the Computer Age to buoy them, would be slinging burgers during the day and watching porn as a group at night. They’re rich and feel sort of guilty about it but ain’t gonna stop getting rich so they pontificate.
Let’s not talk about Microsoft being the basis for much of the military’s IT system and how many people has it helped kill since DOS 1? That’s us, but largely unsaid is that the Chinese have a lot of MS product in their military and police system too and have done so for many years, wouldn’t yuan to know where is the righteous indignation there?
(sorry, had to do that, but it shouldn’t draw away from the basic MS hypocrisy)

I don’t know what put this in my mind this morning, but I wonder if what black people as a group are doing? Is it committing self genocide or mass suicide? When are they going to stand up together and chase Planned Parenthood out of their neighborhoods? That might be a start to make things better.

That huge oil spill we had in the Gulf 10 years ago may have had an effect on the Gulf population but I don’t think anyone particularly studied that aspect.

Earlier I was watching Jesse Waters and they broke in with another white cop shooting a black. There was some kind of a scuffle and he ran and the cop shot him. I think the guy had gotten his stun gun, but I am not certain. I am so sick of these guys fighting with the cops, setting themselves up to be shot, and being shot and killed. It makes me sick.
