    Anon: Our POTUS has absolutely outflanked them AGAIN, and they wont report it. Look at the date if this story. Seems like it would have at least gotten a tiny bit of attention, no? But DJT, master of look here not there, is still in charge.

      The postal service is a government agency that isn’t a regular government agency. When it was cut loose from the Feds it left with all Fed benefits attached but as it wasn’t really Fed any more it could negotiate those benefits. They are Federal when they need be and independent when it suits them. It’s a Federal golden goose for employees.

      They get to use the Federal FERS retirement system and our health insurance but while we had to pay a good chunk of out health insurance premiums they only had to pay about 10%. They are largely self-controlled but have the the ability to scuttle back to Fed cover when needed, they have the best of both worlds.

      They need to be reformed, they need to live or die as a private agency or come back fully under government control, were it not for the support the government gives them, their service rate increases and some deals with agencies like UPS they’d be in far worse shape. They’ve become a runaway mess and need to be snapped back into a business mode. Good luck with that.

    To all you great Mothers and GrandMothers…

    May God bless you for all you have been and done for your families, children and grandchildren.

    I lost my mother very early, but Dad married again.

    He died the day before Mother’s Day 2019.

    But I talked to Mom(stepmom) today, and at 83, is doing well.

    There is no greater job or military service greater than the work of a Mother. Last chapter of Proverbs! Any true man of God recognizes that.

    Some us men do actually understand and appreciate Mothers, Grandmothers, Sisters…all the precious women in our lives, and some of us know we wouldn’t even be here without them.

    In my personal life, it was the prayers of them that got me through a 100 times of being on the edge of death in one way or the other. Out in the field, health conditions…all of it.

    So for them, my tribute of thanksgiving for this Mother’s Day.

    And may God bless all you Stellar Mothers and Grandmothers here.

    Mornin’ everyone. Gray and drizzly here today. Guess I shouldn’t complain about a gray day and a little rain to people who are getting snowed on in the middle of May. 🙄 Things are picking up. I have a dr. appt., by telephone, but I didn’t know if they would cancel. And, I have a HAIR APPT. next Sat. YAY!!!!!!! My hair dresser is going to be really busy for the next few weeks. Also, my friend and I should be able to go out to lunch again on Tuesday. Just a whirlwind of activity this week. 🙄 Hope things are looking up everywhere else. 🙂

    You all may be pleased to know, czar and i are not totally crazy. Sen Tom Cotton just confirmed, Wuhan CCP Virus was in Wuhan, China Oct 2019.
    Not totally crazy, but now a little scary, no?

    Stella, love your Pyrenees photo. The Pyrenees are the Basque homeland. I grew up in an area where many Basque families lived, both French Basque and Spanish Basque, and went to their festivals…

    Hugely family-oriented. And, of course, that’s where the Great Pyrenees dog breed came from…

      My farmer-neighbour has one of those dogs. He’s a big guard dog over the goats and cows, but he’s also a huge sweet dirty boy! Every summer they have to shave him like a sheep. His name is “Big Dog”.

    I personally had an excellent day today – went to the cemetery to visit the parental units’ resting place and placed fresh arrangements there – and there were a zillion people there!! One group was even having a family gathering out there and no, it wasn’t a funeral. Employees were wandering around passing out carnations to the women – I put it in with Momma’s arrangement in the little urn. NONE of us had masks on, just a pleasant day in Louisiana – and I actually had some work scheduled on the family plot. Earth movers sometimes move cornerstones, etc. when a nearby service needs to be done. One of ours got moved several feet away and being anal, it annoys me so I brought it up to this worker and it shall be addressed next week. Life is good.
    Especially if followed by going to a nursery and buying a few herbs (pots at this joint are too damn high) and then hitting up the local Mexican food joint.
    Lots of fun since I haven’t been out much – got a mild sunburn on my face. Happy Mother’s Day to all of ya’s!
