It Took COVID-19 for LA VA, That Illegally Rents Its Grounds, to House Homeless Vets in Tents
    April 16, 2020 – JUDICIAL WATCH

It took a global pandemic for the Los Angeles Veterans Affairs to offer a few vets temporary housing on a sprawling parcel deeded to the federal government over a century ago for the specific purpose of caring for disabled military veterans. Thousands of veterans have long lived on the streets surrounding the lush facility in West L.A., yet the VA has been derelict in its duty to help them.

I’m glad to know this is happening, but so angry to know that that are people in the VA who are interfering with these Vets being taken care of.

Inefficiency, scams, brides, those are all words in the VA bureaucrat’s oath. The SES and senior VA officials control millions in contracts at each VA facility and not only the VA but a lot of Congressional types are loath to have a local, never mind an entire top-down audit of the VA by independent and honest auditors.

It’s been a political hog trough for reps and Senators to have a major VA facility in their district/state as Friends of the Congressjerk get a lot of juicy contracts that generate political contributions.

How the Media Completely Blew the Trump Ventilator Story

“After nearly four years of unrelieved Trump hysteria in the media, it’s hard to rank the worst journalistic outrages,” Rich Lowry writes for the National Review. But how the press misreported the story of America’s ventilator stockpile “belongs high on the list.”

Last year, America produced a total of 30,000 ventilators. This year, the country will produce somewhere around 200,000—and the machines are already coming in.

“By any measure, that’s a success, certainly compared with where we thought we’d be less than a month ago. If the media weren’t so devoted to gotcha idiocy, more people might know about it.”

We have an errant kingfisher stop by every now and then as well as the seasonal osprey. Our resident cormorants don’t dive out of the air, they dive underwater and chase the fish. In any event they catch more fish than I do…but then they can’t drive to BK and get a Whopper meal.

3rd NOPD officer in a week shot by local thugses. They’re getting bolder -seems that since the mayor and Chief started their ‘why can’t we just all just be friends’ Hug-a-Thug program.

You can’t engage them in a car chase anymore, you have to realize that they have more rights than you do and that your entire career hinges on not violating their rights in even the smallest way. Getting shot? It’s just an occupational hazard of shepherding the downtrodden into lives of productiveness.

If it was the mayor and police chief who were getting shot at, they’d change their tune. As long as it’s the guy and gal in blue out there on the streets, it seems not to faze them.

To a liberal politician – and aside from being…ambitious…they are very liberal – everyone from the police to other government workers to the public are toilet paper to wipe their aspirations on.

Mayor is in hiding, since Trump said you can reopen at your own pace and own decisions she doesn’t have anyone else to blame her potential failures on. Now she has to face her own lack of decision making skill sans safety net.

This is in Australia. I have a couple of questions:

    1. How do they know that these three people aren’t living in the same house?
    2. How many people are there in that helicopter?
    3. There are at least three police officers arresting these guys. How is that any safer?

    This is my hospital system.

Beaumont Health System is one of the largest health care companies in Michigan and they are about to shed close to 3000 jobs, some permanently.

Beaumont Health says it is temporarily laying off thousands of employees and permanently eliminating several hundred more jobs as the hospital system braces for the financial hardship brought on by COVID-19.

In a press release Tuesday, one of Metro Detroit’s biggest hospitals reports 2,475 employees will be furloughed as the health care organization adjusts its workforce amid the pandemic. As another 450 positions are permanently ended, the CEO and other executives are already taking a hefty pay cut as well.

“I am extremely proud of our team’s rapid response to COVID-19. While many front-line employees have never been busier, other parts of our operations have drastically declined or ceased. We must make difficult, quick decisions now to protect and readjust to an uncertain future,” said CEO John Fox.

As I read this, I pictured Pelosi and company dancing around with their glasses of wine, celebrating their greatest accomplishment…………the destruction of our health system. This was planned, I have no doubt. They are rejoicing that they have done it, finally. They were a little worried that they could actually pull it off, but now, they have done it.

NOTE TO ALL: Something is screwed up with WordPress. Four times (at least that I’ve found) I have made comments from the notification window, and the comments seem to disappear. As an administrator, I can look at the comments in the dashboard and they are there, but they don’t appear where they should in the post comments. It happened once to lovely as well, and may have happened to others, but I don’t know.
