Some good news for a change.
“Chicago hospital treating severe Covid-19 patients with Gilead Sciences’ antiviral medicine remdesivir in a closely watched clinical trial is seeing rapid recoveries…with nearly all patients discharged in less than a week.” https://t.co/VBYhZmISGl

As antibody tests continue, I believe that we will find that the death rate is much lower than has been thought.
The @stanford antibody testing is out – it estimates ~3% of people in Santa Clara County (CA) have been infected and recovered, 50-plus times the estimate of confirmed active cases. More evidence #SARSCoV2 is far more widespread and thus less dangerous than expected. pic.twitter.com/wWw7M6RXfM

Morning prayer
Lord, for those who feel they’ve reached the end of their rope who view the future through eyes of doubt, listen to naysayers and messengers of doom, let the light of Your promise-the brilliance of Your hope light up the dark corners and dispel the shadows of despair— Charlie Daniels (@CharlieDaniels) April 17, 2020
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians-4-6-7— Charlie Daniels (@CharlieDaniels) April 17, 2020

Hopefully these drugs that are effective against COVID19 will also be effective against the other flu outbreaks we get every year. And maybe folks can calm down now because it’s not a death sentence if there are treatments. Tom Hanks’ wife can just shut up about the inconvenient side effects ~ there are probably some folks who wished their dead loved one had been offered it.

A friend told me last Saturday she had a sort of dream that something great to solve the virus problem would happen this Saturday. I told her I hoped it was true, but to remember sometimes we don’t recognize a turning point until after it has passed. I hope she is right.

The Local news said the New Orleans VA, LSU hospital, Tulane Hospitals and Ochsner hospital system are all participating in the remdesivir trials. That likely means most big cities have hospitals are getting it as well.
