He thought up and choreographed just about all of his stunts, performed them himself and performed them generally without any safety nets. The stunts he did high upon buildings particularly gave the film companies headaches as they were done in real time without safety nets, belts or harnesses. He was a genius.

Definitely a genius. And it’s true he performed his own stunts. As a small boy when he was in Vaudeville with his parents, the three had routines in which he was thrown against walls or onto the floor, and he learned how to land, thus minimizing injuries.
THE GENERAL is the film he’s most known for. I’ve seen it a number of times in black and white; so this colorized version is a novelty.

And did you hear the MSM here reporting it? I just can’t wrap myself around destroying one producing olive tree never mind 5000. We have one in the yard and it’s a pain to get started and you have to baby it for years before you even get a thready first fruiting, it’s an adult’s lifespan before it’s a steady producer.
Were it up to me I’d round the whole lot up and dump ’em in the water about 50 miles offshore.

Honestly, I never buy Spanish olive oil as I prefer the Italian (Greek?)presses better. To me the Spanish oil has a slightly different taste and even if they’re squeaking in some Greek olives it’s still to much like playing oily Russian roulette.

This is the brand that I buy. Some of their oils are also blends from other countries, though they make that clear. Their most expensive is exclusively California olive oil.

I’ve tried the blended olive oil, but it’s not as good as the regular extra virgin from California orchards, IMO. And I like that they use glass bottles.

The blended from California Olive Ranch is in glass bottles too. The blend is from Portugal, Chile, Argentina and California, I believe. It’s perfectly fine for cooking. I have some nicer oil for salads etc.

It would take how many hours by how many ROP adherents to cut down 5,000 trees? So no one with an AK-47 was monitoring these pieces of filth? How were they able to gain access to axes, saws, etc.? The penalty should be the same as it was for destroying a man’s livelihood by stealing his horse.

Sounds like an almost Joe Biden wet dream except they’re allowed too many total weapons and too much ammo. Greece toes the EU line of only the government/elite being allowed weapons. I was looking at going on a Russian boar hunt in Europe but it would be easier for me to bring a dozen illegal Moslems through EU customs than my legal, registered Mauser (made in Belgium) Mauser hunting rifle.

Re my own question on axes or other methods of cutting the trees down, I’d wager there were some Turks in the group (maybe Army) who arrived with specific duties and instructions about methods of destruction for Greek property. Erdogan probably had it all mapped out.

I find it fascinating that you hear *crickets* from the environmentalists when it comes to something like this.
It’s the same in Southern CA. Whenever we have lots of rain, the Tijuana River Valley floods with all kinds of sewage…………….from Mexico. But do you year anything from the Sierra Club?
Hmmmm It’s almost like environmental groups are selective about who they protest against.
So then it’s really not about the environment after all.

Mornin’ everyone. I have a “Good News” to share. My friend gave half of her money from the gov to her neighbor who is in dire straights right now. The family is struggling anyway because the mother lost her job back in Jan and the husband’s work has slowed down too much. They were about to be evicted because, even though they were paying their rent, it was late. They have been really good to my friend and helped her a lot. The mother cried when she gave her the money. They went straight out to the grocery store.

isnt’ it? She is such a kind, caring, generous person. She gave money to the niece of a friend who was in her last few months to become a nurse and something happened to her job or something and the aunt couldn’t help her out. She was going to have to quit. The young woman finished her schooling and now is a nurse. And, it wasn’t a loan, it was a gift.
