    Scientists in Myanmar, perhaps with not much better to do, have identified 6 new coronaviruses in bats! Just in case you don’t think that’s enough of an “OoooKAY! High Five!!” moment, they estimate that with around 1200 species of bats and at least 170 of them used for food in Asia, Africa, Australia, Oceania and elsewhere they believe there ma be thousands of coronavirus varieties out there.

    These viruses they’ve found are in the same family as the SARS, MERS and COVID-19 but are not genetically related there’s no guarantee they couldn’t take a detour through another species (i.e., as swine flu did) but that still leaves over 1200 bat species to check and see what surprises they may hold.

    So far this hankerin’ for bush meat’s brought us HIV, a few hemorrhagic fevers and the SARS/COVID treats. As the various bush meat eaters aren’t likely to give up their exotic ramen toppings we may be in for a long and bumpy ride. Hail globalization.

      We’ve been put in confinement for less than 5,000 deaths from the Wuhan virus. That’s not to diminish those individuals who have died but to put the deaths in perspective. DEAD IS DEAD no matter what the cause. Some deaths may be more physically and mentally horrible than others such as terrorism and torture. However, my contention continues to be with this virus that some deaths serve an agenda better than others.

      4,984 is the number for deaths from Covid-19 in the U.S. Read the other stats here…

        Yes, and we don’t know how many of those deaths were caused by something else? And, how many of those deaths were caused by the treatment? I am not criticizing the doctors, but evidently being put on the ventilators when that wasn’t the right thing to do? This whole thing was created by man. And, used for their own purposes. President Trump made the best decisions he could based on information he was given.

        I lost somebody, a close compatriot in Moscow some years ago. 1970s…old style USSR.

        There have many more deaths to dreadful torture than this virus.

        Yeah, I know the virus is real.

        But I also know it is bio/political/media engineered for one main purpose…and speaking out as she did, it’s why Trish Regan got fired by Fox…she said…2 words are why we never got all this national shut down in viruses before…Donald Trump.

        I am one of God blessed survivors of the Hong Kong flu decades ago. I was .01 under 106 degrees temperature. Brain is gonna start frying at 104.5 to 105. I can tell you, I never want to be brain cooked at 106 again. Until you have had a fever like that…you can’t how your eyes roll back in your head and you just want to right then and there.

        Did they shut down the nation then? Nope!

        Did they shut down the nation for 2018’s H1N1?
        Nope!

        Because they had their evil POTUS who hated and despised our Republic…in position and to fundamentally transform it from a great and free Republic to a near state of tryanny and state of socialist control.

        Hopefully, some of God’s people will recognize the danger at hand, get on their faces before God and plead for His mercy and grace to help us in this great national war that is dividing and tearing us apart.

        We cannot be lazy and assume PDJT is going to be elected because of the proliferated advancement of all the other side’s cheating mechanisms…I’ve been warning friends and some the world’s greatest conservative bloggers…like my good friend, Thomas Lifson of American Thinker, and others about. This is not a time of complacency and relaxing of the guard.

        I’m just one piece of mortality like all of you, but…we are together in this fight for this nation, our Republic….remember what Benjamin Franklin said…”can you keep it?”

        Thoughts to ponder.

    Mornin’….It’s 30 degrees, it snowed all night long & there’s a winter weather advisory out until at least this evening. I was gonna try to find my ‘happy place’ but I’m under quarantine.

    Yep, gonna be one of ‘those’ days.

      I hope your spring comes soon. Cold here for us too, it was 37 this morning. My son was in Pennsylvania yesterday where he said it was snowing, but not sticking to the roads.

        Our roads should be okay if the weather advisory is wrong….and I’ve got my fingers crossed that it is…..

        My problem was that I convinced myself that the last snow we had was the Last Snow of the season…..I should never get my hopes up….:0)

        Hopefully you will see some warmth too Menagerie….after so much rain, you guys deserve a little break.

          Ah, yes, relaxing in those pools looks like a great pastime, litenmaus! There’s an announcement that the pools are closed until April 10, yesterday. If they did re-open because they felt comfortable that the crisis peak has come and gone, that’s good news for the proprietors and patrons.

            I am guessing that they are not open and the website just hasn’t been update because employees got sent home weeks ago.

            I just got off the phone with our county hospital and it’s only been since Monday that we’ve gained access to tests …I’m guessing that a lot of rural counties across America are only now beginning to test and that’s why the quarantine deadlines have been extended.

            However, since MT has, for the last two weeks, held the Covid death rate at Six persons…I’m hoping that our Dem Governor will soon see fit to start reopening some of these businesses.

    Rubin is a nut case “conservative” by no ones standards other than the Don Lemon crowd.

    This will be the Democrats siren call that blaming POTUS for the Chinese virus.

    But once again the reactionary democrats have put themselves between a rock and a hard place. They have painted themselves into the corner of having two choices for their nominee the senile pervert Biden or the nipple ringed, chest and arm shaved Andrew Cuomo. (Can anyone say closeted gay man?) << Opinion only

    Biden may just wander off the stage and fall into the audience during a debate. Likely won’t get one full coherent sentence out of his mouth. Plus all the footage of his perversions. And there is a woman accusing him of rape charges were just filed.

    If the democrats go with Cuomo, they lose the “President Trump killed thousands” narrative because Cuomo’s state is the the epicenter of the Chinese Virus in America and there is black and white evidence that Cuomo lied and that POTUS did everything Cuomo asked him to do. Plus Cuomo is from NY I cannot imagine the dirt POTUS has on him, not to mention President Trump is pushing for Cuomo to be the nominee, POTUS has a purpose behind everything that he does.

    And yes some democrats would vote for anyone other than Trump even a serial murderer but many are waking up. A Cuomo or Biden nominee will wake more of them up.
